A woman is being accused of stunning her ex-lover with a taser, allegedly because the man prevented her from attacking his pregnant girlfriend.

Lashauna Marshall pleaded not guilty to being armed with an offensive weapon and common assault.

Allegations are that, on August 3 last year, the pregnant woman and her boyfriend Shem Samuel were watching the East End emancipation festivities.

The 26-year-old accused reportedly approached the pregnant woman and made a comment.

The boyfriend, who is the complainant in the matter, tried to quell a quarrel that ensued between the two women.

The accused allegedly tried to shock the pregnant woman with a taser.

The court heard that the boyfriend stepped between them and pushed his ex-lover away.

The accused woman retaliated by allegedly using a taser to shock the man in the left rib area.

A bystander intervened.

A report was made to the police who charged the alleged offender.

In court, Magistrate Ayanna Baptiste DaBreo granted the accused woman $20,000 bail.

She is scheduled to return to court on February 20 for trial.
