Man now charged for George Burrows murder

The public must refrain from physically going to this police station. They must, instead, dial 311 to file a police report or 911 for an emergency.

A person has now been charged for the September 2 murder of George Burrows.

Police have identified the accused killer as 37-year-old Free Bottom resident, Royden Sebastian.

Law enforcers said Sebastian was taken into custody yesterday afternoon by the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force’s (RVIPF) Major Crime Unit. He was questioned and subsequently charged.

“Investigations are ongoing in this matter,” the RVIPF said in a media release Wednesday afternoon.

Burrows was gunned down in Purcell Estate on Tortola around 9:30 pm on the day in question.

Days later on September 10, 55-year-old Daley was shot and killed in the Spring Ghut area of Tortola. No one has been charged in relation to Daley’s murder as of yet.

You maytay for real cuz partner robbed First Bank not National Bank. This is the problem with our Court system. He got 20 years in 2010 for robbing the bank. He appealed and was granted a reduction of 10 years. He should have been in jail still and he wouldn’t have been charged with anything in 2020.

This is exactly what i’ve been saying. This justice system is corrupted. Criminal receive a sentence and the public thinks justice is serve. Then the justice system turns around and shaves more half the time. It’s why I say crime pays here.

    • Second Chance says:

Nope! Based on his last 20 year sentence, he might be out in 5 years max. Our parole board really needs to look a bit deeper into the psyche of these hardened criminals. Some don’t deserve a second chance. Had he been serving his 20 years, Mr. Borrows might have been alive today. It’s a shame that Mr. Borrows will never get a second chance.
