A 28-year-old East End man was ordered to pay nearly $7,000 in fines and compensation in relation to two unrelated incidents.

Senior Magistrate Tamia Richards slapped Kyle Baronville with fines amounting to $5,000 and ordered him to pay compensations totaling $1,600 for the offences of handling stolen goods and of criminal damage. .

The offender was charged with the latter offence after a June 6 incident in which he damaged a vehicle belonging to his sister.

The court heard that Baronville – who lived with the sibling at the time – broke her vehicle’s windshield along with a park light in. The court was told that he committed the offence in retaliation to a family dispute.

He was fined $2,000 and will serve a default sentence of four months in prison if the fines are not paid. He was also told to pay $700 compensation to his sister.

Purchasing stolen phone

It is also reported that, in that said month, Baronville purchased a stolen cellular phone in the Ghetto/Crabbe Lot area from a man only referred to as John.

Baronville was later apprehended and brought before the court where he pleaded guilty to handling stolen goods.

Senior Magistrate Richards fined him $3,000. He will serve a default sentence of six months in prison if that fine is not paid.

He is also to pay $900 compensation for the phone.

No definitive timeframe was given for Baronville to make the payments because the offender is reportedly on remand at the Her Majesty’s Prsion for an unrelated and unspecified offence.

Open comment: Come on young people. Way too many young persons are being mixed up with stealing/ handeling stolen goods. The struggles are real I get it, but the struggles ain’t as hard as trying to bounce back with a good name. The only people who win are the courthouse and lawyers. The rewards for young people these days are either Balsome gut or Johnson Gut.

On a second note we need real jobs opportunity for young people, yet young people need to get out the quick money mentality and stop following those ratchet pricks and they lifestyle. Work is available all over but the commitment beings with the individual want to work….

His goose is cooked. I have no idea where he is going to find all that money. He doesn’t sound like a guy who has a means to pay those fines as e——–d by him resorting to buying a stolen cell phone. Looks like Balsum Ghut will have a new customer soon.

Fine or no fine, he should apologize to his sister for damaging her vehicle if he has not done so already. What he did was inexcusable, and unacceptable. Hope brother and sister can make up and put this behind them. Family is all we have in this world.

One should never let their anger get the better of them. Whatever the issue is, sleep on it, or simply walk away. It takes a man/woman to do that.

Father, I pray that you would open up the skies over Kylie . He is yours Heavenly Father. Lord give him a new heart. Cause him to see the error of his ways and may he change to serve you Dear God. Father, let those who criticize also see the error of their ways. We know the negative voices will not help…so Father silence every negative word towards Kylie in Jesus name. Now Jesus cover me with your precious blood as I plead your blood over my body soul and Spirit. May we all see the good in others and pray for each other in Jesus name. Amen!!
