Masked gunmen strike at Pier Park again | Shots fired!

The statue of Cyril B Romney mounted at the pier park on Tortola.

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has launched an investigation into an armed robbery that occurred on Wednesday afternoon, May 20.

The incident took place at a popular establishment — House of Luxury — located at the Cyril B. Romney Tortola Pier Park.

“Preliminary reports indicate that masked men armed with firearms entered the establishment, stole jewelry, and made their escape via a vehicle. Shots were reportedly fired,” the RVIPF said in a brief statement following the incident.

No injuries have been reported.

Up to publication time, officers remained on the scene conducting investigations. Police said further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

This latest incident adds to a string of armed robberies that have taken place at House of Luxury, the Pier Park and other business establishments on Tortola in recent months.

This is at least the third robbery at House of Luxury in roughly two years.

Police have, however, made progress, with several arrests carried out in connection with recent cases.

We are one shot away from ending cruise ship arrivals.

    Positives and negatives in everything.

I just hope they are not VIslanders or we will be getting the calls to change the law so shooting guns should be legal and that they are business people who have children.
