Memorial to be held tomorrow for Detective France

Commissioner Mark Collins along with the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force has invited the public to join a memorial service in honour of the late Detective Sergeant Paul France who tragically lost his life in the line of duty on October 6 2023.

The ceremony will take place tomorrow, November 28, 2023, at the Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Pasea Estate, Tortola, between 12:30 pm and 2 pm.

Commissioner Collins expressed condolences to DS France’s colleagues and friends, acknowledging the challenges they faced during this difficult time.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend and pay their respects to DS France, whose dedication to duty and lifelong support for Manchester City FC will also be remembered. Those attending the ceremony are invited to wear Manchester FC’s blue colours as a final salute to the devoted detective.

Detective France’s lifeless body was discovered in a green SUV submerged off the rocky shorefront area near the Dr D Orlando Smith Hospital.

However, despite the uncertainties surrounding his death, both Governor John Rankin and Commissioner Collins indicated that there is no evidence of foul play.

In a previous statement, the Governor emphasised the need to await the post-mortem results.

No updates have since been provided regarding the detective’s cause of death.

I didn’t know him, personally or professionally.

I offered prayers for his soul, but let the commissioner and the Coroner’s office hold a remembrance for him, seeing as to how they were so keen on been tight lipped and hushed about how he met his demise and the situation leading up to it.

May his soul, once again rest in peace.

Don’t tell me that we are going to bury this man without knowing the real true cause of his death.. So many secrets about this death.. So many satisfactory answers.
One day we will know. No matter how long we will know the truth. The truth cannot sleep for too long and cannot die..

So what does this imply “…tragically lost his life in the line of duty…” certainly more than we have been told so far.

I’ve always supported the RVIPF, but their lack of interest in many of the unsolved murders, is making me think twice.
