More medical supplies arrive from the UK

Days after gifting the British Virgin Islands with a shipment of medical supplies, the United Kingdom government donated more equipment and items to the territory.

The supplies arrived in the territory last Friday, May 22.

A brief statement posted on the Office of the Governor’s Facebook page said the medical equipment will not only assist with the coronavirus.

“This delivery includes a new testing machine that is faster and easier to use. It will boost BVI’s capacity to test and tackle COVID-19 and other viruses like Dengue and Zika,” the post read.

The previous donation also gave the BVI the same testing capacity.

We don’t need this. The Honorable Premier Fahie as acquired top of the line rest kits and ventilators from Senegal. We don’t need no U.K. crap.

This is very welcome, especially given the trials and tribulations UK is dealing with. I am very pleased we are an OT, especially during times like this and Irma. Thank you UK; Thank you Governor.

Hoping those medical supplies and machinery, same for any future vaccines, are thoroughly tested, cleansed and verified for safety before being brought online for public use.

Oh that’s right they decided to down play this donation, the public cant know about this only the protocols matter! This is probably the most valuable donation yet. We can test locally and not have to send off for confirmation and wait days. I think this is a great step in the right direction for dealing with COVID-19 Thank you UK. We are not all ungrateful.
