Four young royalties were crowned inside the Eileene Parsons Auditorium at H Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC) on Sunday when the Prince & Princess Show and the Mr & Miss Junior BVI pageant were held.

Kwame Prince and Angelique Lettsome claimed the titles of Mr & Miss Junior BVI 2022 while Ryson Adams and Lorrisa-Anya King were crowned this year’s Prince and Princess of the territory.

It was a clean sweep for Adams who was competing for the crown alongside Dae’lani Baronville.

Adams won Mr Congeniality, Mr Photogenic, Mr Popular, Best Introduction Speech, Best Introduction Dance, Best Talent, Best Evening Gown and Finesse of Madras (Creative Wear).

Meanwhile, King won Best Evening Wear, Best Talent and Miss Congeniality.

First runner-up Kiandra Scatliffe won Best Introduction Speech.

Tianna Stanley won Miss Popularity, Best Introduction Dance and Best Finese of Madrase (Creative Wear).

Rhe’Nyiah Davis won Miss Photogenic.

The audience inside the Eileene Parsons Auditorium at H Lavity Stoutt Community College (HLSCC) was thoroughly entertained as the six contestants wowed the audience with their introduction, talent pieces and their cultural and evening attires.

Adams, with strong support from the crowd, did a spoken word piece about staying in his own lane and finding what activities suited him.

Baronville, despite his age, spoke about the effects of COVID-19 on the mental health of young children with a spoken word piece accompanied by musical interludes and instrumentation.

Meanwhile, in a tribute to her mother, King stunned the audience with her acrobatic moves as she danced from a suspended Hula Hoop. First runner-up Scatliffe did a spoken word monologue on young children finding their own voice and appreciating their culture despite interference from others. She proudly showcased areas of her Dominican Republic and Virgin Islands heritage.

Davis had a comedic take on how the current generation of parents are not raising their children in the traditional sense with values of respect and good behaviour.

Stanley, in the meantime, came as the grinch who stole festival. During the length of her performance, she engaged in activities current in Virgin Islands culture.
