Murder suspects released

The four persons held by the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) in connection with the territory’s two 2020 murders have been released from custody.

This is according to a media statement from the RVIPF moments ago.

It said: “The RVIPF can confirm that the four arrested yesterday in relation to the recent murders inquiries have been discharged pending further investigations. Both inquiries remain very active.”

A previous statement from the RVIPF on Tuesday stated that three persons were taken into custody in relation to the murder of Matthew Daley.

It further said that one other person was in custody in relation to the murder of George Burrows.

Burrows was gunned down in Purcell Estate on Tortola around 9:30 pm on Wednesday, September 2.

Days later on September 10, 55-year-old Daley was shot and killed in the Spring Ghut area of Tortola. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No known motive has been established for either of the killings.

Anywhere else being arrested for murder is scary. I see why people come there to conduct “business”. You literally can get away with murder as long as your not smoking weed while doing it. Backwards “island ppl” as y’all love to say lol
