Murder suspects released
The three suspects who were arrested in connection to the February 3 murder of Erran Charles are no longer in police custody.
The Information Unit of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force gave that update while responding to inquiries from BVI News on Monday.
“The three were released pending further investigation,” Information Officer Diane Drayton said.
The unnamed trio was arrested last Wednesday. Notwithstanding with their arrests at the time, Detective Chief Inspector Neil Castle, the lead investigator of the murder, urged anyone with any information in relation to the shooting to contact the Major Crime Unit at (284) 368-9809 or (284) 368-9342.
Two persons were shot during the night of the murder — Charles who died, and a 17-year-old male who up to recently was in stable condition a hospital.

Can someone, anyone help me understand why is it that it appears whenever a person is murdered and suspects are reportedly arrested, they are quite often released.
What is going on here? Is the intelligence the police is receiving bad? What is going on in these cases that police arrest suspects only to release them shortly thereafter?
Something is terrible wrong, and I don’t understand what it is. I hope we do not have another cold case on our hands. We have too many already.
You cant really blame the police all of the time. They have an idea and they follow up on leads but if they dont have any proof other than them man commenting on Vino about stolen chain etc. they cant get far with that. The people that were around or who know dont want to be called a snitch so unless the police get video or a confession they are faced with a dead end.
What I take from this is, people who may or may not have seen what happen, ill take not seen but heard will then fwd that info to the cops. The cops without evidence, perhaps hoping to get a confession take these people into custody without evidence or a confession have no choice but to release them.
However, they say the streets knows!!!
VI is a small place, there isn’t drama without knowledge of this drama. If you and I have an issue the street will know. If you are murdered the street will assume its about that drama, the assumption in a small place like the VI is more closer to fact….the issue is getting the evidences or confession.
