My gov’t has been very good about planning — Premier
The government has many plans that it shares internally, Premier Dr Natalio Wheatley said while defending his government’s admission over the lack of a formal written plan for the agriculture sector.
While addressing concerns about the issue recently, Dr Wheatley acknowledged the need for a formal plan but said the absence of a formal plan does not mean that governments do not have any.
“This administration and the administration just prior have been very good about planning, we produced a blue economy roadmap, we produced a national sustainable development plan and we continue to produce plans that complement our national sustainable development plan,” Premier Wheatley stated.
Just recently, Junior Minister for Agriculture Dr Karl Dawson confessed that he did not meet a formal plan for the sector and stated that no long-term plan had been worked on since he entered office.
“I did not meet (a plan) and we have not yet developed one yet. Since I’ve been there (in the ministry), in the last few months, we have been engaged in planning sessions and that is not to produce a long-term three-year or five-year plan. That’s just to make sure we know how we’re charting the way forward for the next few years,” the minister stated.
The territory’s leader pushed back at criticism over Dr Dawson’s statement and argued that governments articulate their plans in various ways, including statements in the House of Assembly, their manifesto, and at events like Agriculture Month, among other things.
He stated: “We share our plans all the time internally, we have plans that we discuss with our stakeholders, but we do see the value of having that document that all our stakeholders can point to and say, well, this is my role within the plan.”

What the Heck is this Boy talking about? Does he even live on the same Planet as Us? Read his First Statement. Maybe the planning he is speaking about is Babbling amongst themselves while half of them drinking Rum. The Agriculture Minister said there is No Plan. The Director of Tourism said That the Words from his Mouth was the Plan. Is this Premier even alive or is He a Zombie? Lord have Mercy. We gone!!!
If anyone had said to me five years ago that our territory was doomed I would have said “Aya get from here wid ya Nonsense” Proved me wrong… It’s better to stay silent and have some say you are a Fool than to open your Mouth and prove that You are indeed a Fool.
The Premier said the ‘absence of a written formal plan does not mean the government does not have a plan’. If it is not in writing sir it is not a plan but an idea or thought..i told you to quit speaking rubbish and yet you insist and continue!

Dr. Dawson said ‘he did not meet a formal plan and he has not delivered one yet to the people’ but yet he has being collecting a salary every month since he assumed office for almost two years now. Hmmm…

Anything getting do with the water distribution system? Surely by now everybody done get their increments by now right? What’s the status of the admin complex it’s repaired? What’s the plan for boosting agriculture locally not in Guyana or st kitts. How much longer until we done with the COI and we can get this order in council from over our head? The problem is nobody knows if anything really happening.

He was well trained by his former boss. He is more dangerous than his former boss who will be sentenced by a Miami Federal Court Judge in a couple of days. I will agree 1000% that the only thing this man knows how to do well is chase ……, plan parties, fly first class and stay in expensive hotels on the taxpayers dime. Oh yeah, he gets a big A plus for that. Always flying off to meetings and conferences and comes back empty handed with no proper information to report to the public.

King leach, when will we learn? A lot of brawn,but very little good results to show to back up all the empty talks. A mega hospital, but no maintenance in place. It shouldn’t have been built without scheduling for its upkeep.
