New political factions should consider merging for next election

Political commentator and Morning Facts host Cindy Rosan has expressed concern that the growing number of political groups preparing for the next general election could divide voter support among candidates seeking political change, potentially benefiting more established political parties.
Speaking recently on her Morning Facts programme, Rosan argued that several emerging political groups should consider uniting rather than contesting the election separately if they are genuinely seeking political change in the territory.
Rosan pointed to what she described as an increasing “fight for power” among political hopefuls and groups taking shape ahead of the next election.
“I think there’s an absolute fight for power in this territory,” Rosan said. “If it wasn’t about that, and individual people wanting to be in charge, then the three or four entities that are coming up in addition to the NDP and VIP, they would find a way to unite themselves.”
Among the groups she identified were the Virgin Islands Innovative Association (VIIA), the People’s Leadership Movement (PLM), and the “All 13” movement, which has been promoting the idea of replacing all current elected members with new candidates.
Rosan said the All 13 movement appears to be positioning itself as an anti-establishment alternative by rejecting anyone who has previously served in the House of Assembly.
“They don’t want any person who has sat in the House of Assembly before,” Rosan explained. “They feel like they’re a part of what we are feeling now.”
However, she cautioned that the emergence of multiple political factions — along with the possibility of independent candidates entering the race — could ultimately undermine efforts by those seeking an alternative to the current administration.
“You’re gonna shoot yourselves in the foot,” Rosan warned. “You’re gonna give what is there a bigger chance to come through unless your campaign is so dynamic and you have some really amazing candidates.”
Her comments come amid growing public discussion about whether the political landscape outside of the VIP is becoming increasingly fragmented ahead of the next general election.
During the 2023 general election, several political parties and independent candidates competed for support, resulting in votes being spread across multiple groups. The VIP emerged as the largest single party and was ultimately able to form the government following post-election negotiations.
Rosan suggested that a united coalition among emerging groups could improve their chances of electoral success.
“These entities could really mess things up,” she said. “They can all review themselves and really and truly come together to make one entity that they feel is in the best interest of moving the BVI forward.”

The current powers that be like the fact that these people who have question marks on them are serving and must compromise to save their skin or risk being arrested or disgraced.
If it were not so, instead of that unity government, they would have allowed a new snap election. That was an injustice done to the people.
Why would you want to cancel a constitution based on the actions of a few bad apples, where nobody has been charged and properly convicted? I don’t know of any other country, including UK, where this sort of nonsense could have happened.

All candidates in a functioning democracy need to publish their integrity standards and records.

All candidates that jump from their party they are elected under should immediatlely have to vacate their position.
The vote of the people should be respected.
Fraser, Vanterpool, Corner Lady, and the rest should never be in the positions they are now and should never be allowed to disrespect the votes or the voters again.
So if you run as an independent what are you supposed to do? Or if there is no majority how is the Government to be formed. The whole idea of Governing well is to achieve goals with compromise. If Candidates cannot move freely you have perpetual gridlock. You failed to include Skelton, Mathais , Walwyn on your list and if we go backsome years there are many more . A society cannot function being that static.
