No lack of trust in my ministers avoiding the press — Premier

Premier Andrew Fahie has denied that a lack of confidence in his ministers is the reason none of them ever held any press conferences on their own, despite being in office for more than two years.

At a recent press conference, the Premier was asked why he was the only minister from his administration that has consistently faced the media, despite previous assurances that all of his ministers would have engagements with the local press corps.

The Premier, who is also the territory’s Finance and Tourism Minister, disclosed that his team of ministers — all of whom are first-term legislators — have instead been preoccupied with duties and engagements across the sister islands in the territory.

“My ministers don’t have anything to hide. As a matter of fact, they’ve been doing things that I haven’t been doing also. They have been going to the sister islands and having office hours,” the Premier shared.

He said their absence before the press corps can’t be attributed to lack of trust on his part, as one may then similarly deduce that there is a lack of trust in him not visiting the sister islands to hold office hours as his ministers have done.

According to Premier Fahie, his ministers’ schedules for the sister islands have been very vigorous.

Furthermore, his administration has prided itself in ensuring that the sister islands are not left out as they have been in past years, the Premier said.

He stated that this was also a major contributing factor in their lack of appearances before the press.

The Premier expressed that when anyone analyses the administration’s accomplishments, there are more than enough things to come to a press conference about, but his ministers have instead been doing that in the sister islands.

Once again, the Premier reassured reporters that they would be seeing more of his ministers at press conferences in the future.

“I just want to say it’s not a matter of trust, it’s a matter of us diversifying ourselves in different areas,” the Premier stated.

it’s wise to keep the megaphone to oneself. Unless a litany of self-exculpatory denials, finger-pointing, point-scoring and vacuous policy statements belying a massive planning void, is a good look.

They hide like evil cats, skulking in the bush. Ready to possess us with witchcraft and make our men cheat and steal. They are to blame for our ills.

We must rise up and stamp out this plight now or we will continue to see more fornication, sleaziness, and potholes.

      Yes! Someone said this!

My husband was possessed by evil spirits and it took him to the clubs and made him do monstrous things. We know it was the cats as we had two black ones circling our drive. They are now gone and he is normal again. Don’t be tricked by foolery!

I don’t know if you are serious or engaging in satire, but oh my!

If you are serious I would like to point you in the direction of Mental Health. Perhaps they can help you deal with the trauma of your husband cheating and not seeking an external reason for why he choose to behave that way….evil spirits cannot be blamed for all our choices….
