No secrecy! Skelton Cline calls for transparency in VI-UK negotiations

Claude Skelton Cline

Sociopolitical commentator Pastor Claude Skelton Cline has called for a greater level of transparency regarding talks concerning the Commission of Inquiry’s (COI) recommendations between the United Kingdom (UK) and the BVI.

“The public must know what’s being negotiated, the public must know what’s being offered. The public must know. This is what helps to alleviate fears and concerns and brings stability to our home, to this place. The public has a right to know,” Skelton Cline said on his Honestly Speaking radio show yesterday, May 17.

Skelton Cline said while he understood that privacy is a feature of such negotiations, the specifics of what the BVI is currently facing cannot be done in secrecy.

The clergyman also suggested that there is a need for a definitive statement from the United Kingdom about to a way forward.

His comments come on the heels of news by Premier Dr Natalio Wheatley that the newly formed unity government delivered its proposal to the UK on how the COI recommendations should be dealt with.

According to Dr Wheatley, the government’s proposal sets out its approach to reform and presents a framework for implementation under continued democratic governance.

“It represents our commitment to good governance and strengthening our institutions and systems of government,” Dr Wheatley said recently.

No ethnocentric strife

Meanwhile, Skelton Cline urged that the prospect of a potential UK takeover as proposed in the COI report, should not be made into any sort of ethnocentric strife within the society.

“We can’t degenerate to that,“ Skelton Cline said.

Describing it as a potential red flag, the host said the current crisis should not be allowed to “get us off the rails“ and end up in fights gloating over each other.

“It’s in all of our interests to be measured and tempered and sober, thoughtful and prayerful. We must peace our way out of this,” he added.

He needs to know what is going on so he knows when to run. Right now he is hoping no direct rule. If the UK takes over he gone. He’ll meet up with Foy in Haiti as that will be the only place that will accept them both.

It’s pretty obvious that he has things over politicians. And he is probably well insured against any unfortunate accidents to his person with deposits in lawyers safes etc.

Seems untouchable but like OJ they should go for him in the civil courts. Only the UK can do this because he has all the current rats in his pocket.

I think the people need to know that if the U.K. “take over” it just means Governor Rankin will act as premier and that local jobs will remain with the people.
This is the impression I have.
However this plays out I just want my tax money to be spent properly!

This is the man that’s always on the Pulpit telling you how to live, but far from doing / practicing what he preaches. This man need to know that there’s an unseen eyes watching him.
It’ll be good if he return all of the tax payers money that he collected for doing nothing. Heyyy CSC, You remember what the Tax Collector Zacchaeus did in the Bible ? He repented and gave back half of his possessions to all those that he robbed.

  17. Thoughtful Sailor says:

CSK, and I hope you read this, you have done more, over the last few years, to sow division in this community than almost anyone else. You have not acted in the Christian way a Pastor should. And, whilst Judgement has not yet been made as to your involvement in large scale corruption, just about everyone believes that to be the case. Instead of constantly telling others what to do, you were to spend your time providing the evidence that you earned your contracts, which you have previously promised to do, the Territory would be much better off. So would you. A reminder: a promise broken is not something to be rationalized. It is a lie.

ZBVI needs to STOP this dishonestly speaking show. All it seems to be is a disingenuous view of a fr**dulent m** m**. STOP the Steal here! Means so much more than Trumps BS.
People stop listening to this type of behaviour.
Just Stop It! Send its thinking kind far from our shore.
Fr**d does not speak nor represent us as a collective! Go away before cuffs await the actions that are nearer and nearer.

Cannot tackle corruption without sending this one packing!
