Officers injured as suspect escapes custody on VG
The Virgin Gorda Police Station
A man escaped custody and injured two police officers during an incident on Virgin Gorda earlier this week, BVI News understands.
It’s reported that officers were responding to a report in the Hazel Point area, where they informed the suspect of the report made against him. It’s understood that the officers arrested him for stolen items.
Police then transported the suspect to the Virgin Gorda Police Station. However, while being processed at the station, it is alleged that the man forcefully escaped custody. Reports indicate that he pushed down a few officers, broke through the front door of the station and ran into nearby bushes.
Some officers reportedly attempted to give chase but were unsuccessful, and the suspect managed to escape. Our sources say the incident has left two female officers nursing bodily injuries. It’s unclear whether they were hospitalised and whether they are back at work.
Investigations are ongoing, and it remains unclear whether the escapee has been apprehended by the police.

The force police force is a disciplined oriented institution. However, in regard to physical discipline regarding its officers, it is severely lacking.
Another critical issue facing the Virgin Gorda law enforcement team that most officers are obese and do not possess the necessary level of fitness or strength required to effectively detain a male suspect.
This lack of physical capability not only diminishes their ability to carry out their duties but also compromises the overall safety and security of the residents.
Ensuring that those tasked with such important responsibilities are fit and capable is essential for the proper functioning of law enforcement and the protection of the community.
Therein is a critical observation that the official whose portfolio it falls under sees, knows and does nothing about.
Yet, the claim and practice that only UK yt men can effectively affect those higher positions within law enforcement effectively and convincingly.

the officers aren’t fit enough. Man, woman, Trans: whatever they are. Half of them that roam the streets are physically unfit to perform their duty. Gender aint the issue here, it’s the lack of enforcing the standard required to maintain the position of a police officer.

Maybe there is a need to review the ratio of male to female officers on Virgin Gorda.
Maybe who in charge may say nothing much going on out there but you have to be prepared at any given time

All Police Officers should be able to run at least one mile continuously. Fitness is a must.
