The 15 square-mile island of Anegada has once again hosted another successfully staging of its annual lobster festival.

The two-day event that culminated on Sunday lured hundreds of persons who were primarily seeking the island’s acclaimed and freshly-prepared spiny lobster dishes, music, and everything the island has to offer.

“What a weekend! Lobster Fest 2018 has exceeded our expectations,” Sharon Flax-Brutus, Director of the BVI Tourist Board (BVITB) told BVI News.

“The BVITB is proud to be able to work with the Anegada community to provide a world-class culinary experience,” she added.

Patrons had the options of restaurant-hopping between the Anegada Beach Club, to the Cow Wreck Beach Bar, Neptune’s Treasure, Wonky Dog, Lobster Trap, Anegada Reef Hotel, Flash of Beauty, Big Bamboo, and Potter’s By the Sea.

For public passengers aboard vessel used to transport eventgoers from other islands to Anegada, the entertainment began long before they docked at the Setting Point Jetty on Anegada.

For those travelling aboard Speedy’s Ferry, the musical entertainment featuring DJ Wiz kicked off from Virgin Gorda when the boat engine fired up.

Hit after musical hit had the early-morning crowd on rocking throughout the hour-long ride to the sister island and back.

Upon arrival at the BVI’s lobster capital, eventgoers were greeted by the scent of lobster and sound of live entertainment.

The likes of The Secret Band, Onyan and the Three Cylinder Band, Spectrum Band, and DJ’s 2 Kool Kris, Paid Fa, Richie Rich were among the acts that kept the patrons entertained for hours at the various locations.

The Lobster Festival, held on November 24 and 25 this year, was the feature event on the annual BVI Foot Fete calendar organised by the tourist board.

I missed it. Looks like a fun event.

On a side, does anyone know if Christmas on Main street is on this year? Also, what date if it’s a go?
