PHOTOS: Revellers unwind at 2018 Rise & Shine Tramp

Nearly a year after three catastrophic disasters massively impacted the British Virgin Islands and the lives of its residents, local revellers have finally had their opportunity to unwind.

Paraders certainly came out in their numbers Monday morning to gyrate through the streets of Road Town for the annual Rise and Shine Tramp, which is part of emancipation festivities.

The contagious sounds of soca were enough to keep them moving along the James Walter Francis Dual Carriageway through to the back of the Central Administration Complex in Road Town, where the party culminated.

In usual fashion, water and body paint was used to colour the event.

        2 Timothy 4:3-4

For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.

Festival is a time to come together, show love and appreciate culture. No need to shun anyone- we have already been through way too much. Last time I checked you’re not God, and God is our only judge…So I’m grateful we don’t need your approval to get into those pearly gates. Happy festival and I hope your heart is filled with love and acceptance as we continue to celebrate EMANCIPATION.
          Amen.

There you go typical response rather than taking the message for what it is…festival may be about emancipation and togetherness but much of the conduct has nothing to do with emancipation. When the slaves were freed, did they hit the streets with sexual stimulation acts, drinking themselves into a drunken state, expose themselves….

Too often persons use this only God can judge response to shun the message. That’s the devil keeping you stuck, closing off your ears from God’s guidance.

You can’t hold the devil’s hand and God’s hand at the same time.

You are right but my point is that many young people have abandoned God and that explains why many are in trouble today

          • Stop Messing with God’s Word says:

@Christian….they have abandoned God refusing to take responsibility for what God expects of each of us while they only rely on the church choosing to pass blame.

It does not make sense for us to lose our faith because of this or that church. Each of us have to do our part to share God’s Word.

God will hold the churches accountable just like He will hold each of us accountable

who says they didnt pray and bless the lord before leaving home? Everyone has the freedom to choose. Church ppl stay judging ppl. What about the part of the bible that says judge not? Is the church the only path to salvation?

      • Read says:

God only hears the prayers of the righteous. He that turns his ear from God’s law even his prayers shall be an abomination. Read your Bible

This BVI…everybody you’re friendly with is automatically your woman or man smh

In other countries you date different people until you’re exclusive.,.in the BVI, you give someone a hug or get a lift home with a friend broad daylight, grab a quick bite for lunch…that’s must be your man/woman.

Let me give you a “hand”
