Plans for Foxy’s Old Year’s Night party underway

Jost Van Dyke, British Virgin Islands – Planning for Foxy’s “Old Year’s Night” celebration on December 31, 2018 is underway. General admission to Foxy’s Tamarind Bar and Foxy’s “Outback” Main Stage is FREE and open to the public. Foxy’s is honoured to announce that internationally acclaimed reggae artists “Third World” will headline the 2019 Old Year’s Night Celebration.

With 9 Grammy nominations, including a 2020 “Best Reggae LP” nomination for “More Work to be Done” produced by Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley and a catalogue of chartered hits spanning 4 decades, Third World is one of the longest-lived Reggae bands of all time, celebrating their 45th year.

One of Jamaica’s most consistently popular crossover acts among international audiences, Third World’s has earned its prominent signature as the “Reggae Ambassadors.” Their style has been described as “reggae-fusion.”

In addition to Third World, Foxy’s Outback Stage will also feature local entertainment such as “Spectrum Band VI”, “Evolution Band”, “DJ Dean”, and “One Nation”. The party will go until the wee hours with “Noise Cans”, led by Bermudian front man COLLAS who will spin a fusion of EDM, dancehall, roots, rock and reggae music, while wearing his signature Bermudian Gombey mask.

Ferries and water taxis from St. Thomas, St. John and Tortola will service Jost Van Dyke throughout the night. Travel details appear on www.foxysbvi.com.

The 2019 Old Year’s Night Theme is “Arabian Nights,” and guests can expect to see whimsical décor to reflect this theme, a magic carpet photo booth, belly dancers and other themed performers. As always, guests are encouraged to attend in costume that reflects the theme. “Out there” and “barely-there attire” are encouraged and appreciated. Foxy’s Famous BBQ will be served in the Outback from 6:30p.m. and is first come, first served at $25 per person.

For those seeking an upscale, all-inclusive dining experience – Foxy’s “Upper Crust” will host a five-course dinner featuring steak, lobster and an open bar overlooking the stage and crowd from a private, VIP area. For details or reservations, contact [email protected]

The 2019/2020 event also expands upon the December 31st by adding January 1st festivities at Foxy’s Taboo, located at Diamond Cay, Jost Van Dyke. 5 time Soca Monarch-winning Vincentian artist Skinny Fabulous will headline Taboo’s New Year’s Dave event, which will also feature music by DJ Avalanche and Xtreme Band.

The day’s festivities will kick off with brunch/lunch at 10:30 a.m. and go until late in the evening on the 1st. Foxy’s “Old Year’s Night” jumped onto the world stage for the Millennium, joining the ranks of Times Square, Paris, Las Vegas and Rio de Janiero as one of the globe’s hottest New Year’s Eve destinations.

Ever since, Foxy’s funky first night festivities have perennially topped the lists of best places to ring in the New Year. It is often listed as the Virgin Islands’ largest party of the year. Visit www.foxysbvi.com for more details.
