PLM launches free school lunch programme in D7

The People’s Leadership Movement (PLM) has launched a free school lunch programme in the Seventh Electoral District, citing what the party described as a need it identified in the community.
According to a media release from the PLM, the programme will provide lunch assistance to eligible children at Francis Lettsome Primary School and Willard Wheatley Primary School.
The PLM said the initiative is being spearheaded by its District 7 (D7) Committee, led by committee president Kevon Lettsome, who said he had seen the needs of students first-hand.
“I have seen this need in District 7 with my own eyes, and we could not look away. When a child is hungry, it shows in their focus, their energy and their smile. Our children are the future of these Virgin Islands, and if we want them to reach that future, we must make sure they are fed today. This programme is our promise to the parents and children of District 7: You are not alone, and we will show up for you,” Lettsome said.
Lettsome is reportedly the party’s candidate for District 7 in the upcoming general election. The PLM is yet to make an official announcement.
PLM chairman Mark Vanterpool also commended Lettsome and the District 7 committee for the initiative.
“Kevon & the District 7 committee did not wait for an election to start serving their community. They saw a need, and they acted. That is what the People’s Leadership Movement stands for: real people, real solutions and real progress that families can feel. A child who is fed is a child who can learn, and a child who can learn can build a brighter BVI for all. I am proud to stand behind Kevon and District 7 committee with this lunch programme initiative,” Vanterpool said.
Premier Dr Natalio Wheatley is the elected representative for the Seventh District.

End rent arrangements to politicians.
End handouts and cashbacks.
Give the people the airport report.
Publish travelling schedules and costs.
Publish reports of overseas travel and meetings stating goals and acheivements.
Publish where the $100 Million got committed.
State what you will do with the $100 Million.
Deal with Prospect Reef.
Hand the beaches back to the people.
Things like that.
