Police charge teen for alleged ‘burglary spree’

Road Town Police Station

Police have arrested a teen who they said committed a series of burglaries on Tortola.

They charged 18-year-old Rockey Haripersaud for burglarising three businesses and attempting to “burgle a fourth within close proximity to his place of residence in Purcell Estate”.

He allegedly illegally entered Cabbage Beauty Spa, Fort Gardens Centre, and Bobb’s Gas Station before attempting to illegally enter OneMart Superstore.

Police allege that the burglaries and attempted burglary all happened within a two-week timespan.

“The burglary spree ended with his arrest over the weekend. He is being held for his appearance in Magistrate’s Court at the next available sitting. Investigations are ongoing in the matter”, police said in a media release on Tuesday.
