Police officer charged with indecent assault

The following is a media release from the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force.

An Officer of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force was officially charged today for Indecent Assault of a minor.

Due to the sensitive nature of the incident, we would not be releasing the officer’s details at this time. Commissioner of Police Mark Collins stated.

“This is a serious allegation, and the officer has been charged and will face the judicial process. It would be inappropriate to make any further comment at this stage.”

He is being held in custody pending his appearance at the Magistrate’s Court on Monday, November 29.

    Presumed guilty. Innocent until proven guilty does not seem to be applicable in the BVI.
