Police Sergeant charged for illegal bullets, breach of trust

A sergeant of the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force has been charged for breach of trust and unlawful possession of ammunition.

The accused senior police officer has been identified as 41-year-old Lenroy Samuel.

He was charged yesterday after a search of his residence uncovered several rounds of ammunition.

“It is very important for an officer of the law to have integrity and abstain from any form of illegal activity. Those found to be on the wrong side of the law will be arrested, charged and prosecuted,” Commissioner of Police Mark Collins has said.

Samuel is being held in custody pending his appearance at the Magistrate’s Court.

This is the second police sergeant to be charged with a criminal offence within the last three months.

Sergeant Troy St Helen was suspended from duty after he was charged with possession of a controlled drug with intent to supply back in July.

  1. Imagine that says:

First kudos to the RVIPF for rooting out some of the rot amongst their ranks, and demonstrating to the public that no one is above the law inclusive of those whose jobs it is to uphold those laws.

This is shameful and disappointing to read really. This guy has let down his collogues and the force, and destroyed his career. If found guilty of these charges, he needs to be let go. There should be zero tolerance for law breakers within the ranks.

The RVIPF needs honest and law abiding officers within its ranks. The public expects nothing less.

The Commissioner of Police is here to do a job and he is doing it, not like the last Commissioner who thought he was on vacation. Mark Collins keep up the good works, this is the first time in a long time we have someone who is doing their job and at the same time cleaning up the Police Force.

Lmao! You still MAD though? Which one gave/giving you competition? Get over yourself! Alright granted dating one is questionable, but relative to people who are “criminal”? GTFOH! Almost everyone here related to each other somehow. And don’t tell me if my family is criminal I must keep away from them. They chose their path in life and I chose mine. One thing for sure, they ALWAYS going to be my blood.

I am both happy and surprised they searched his home. Someone told me a police pulled a gun on him in the presence of others and a report was made but nothing came out of it. The police seem to think they are the law and can do as they please while they arrest others for the same offense. It looks like they believe in “Do as I say, not as I do”.

    • @fact finder says:

then why don’t you go and tell the commisioner all the information,he will act on it,he cannot if people keep quiet and just run their mouths on a blog…

      • Well says:

“Several rounds of ammunition” lol some one has an issue with the officer cause it was 10 rounds. Lol most firearm holders keep more than that.

  18. Funny says:

I came on here at 3am to check the news….because I am hearing activity on the water outside and I am so curious…is the police not hearing them too? So loud and it’s not the first or second time…I mean seriously all the time.. Hmmm..

What good business can boat and bike ppl have simultaneously, at these weeee hours of the morning? I must be the only one hearing in this packed community. I am really curious!!! The movie continues…I shall wait and see??

  19. Covid free says:

Reading these comments are interesting and I’m in agreement with fact finder. Some commissioners tend to forget the criminals and target hard working police officers. Like they have a problem with that. I’m not condoning any police in criminal activity but I smell a rat. A police arrested for having 10 extra rounds of ammunition? Something don’t add up.
