Premier denies pushing EZ shipping contract

EZ Shipping’s Midnight Czar.

Premier Andrew Fahie has denied pushing for a contract for EZ Shipping, contrary to statements that former governor, Augustus Jaspert and former Police Commissioner Michael Matthews made to the Commission of Inquiry (COI).

“It is a travesty to know that, that was a quotation coming from them because that was not the truth,” Premier Fahie said recently.

“I won’t create any controversy over that right now. I have a lot that I could say with it, but I was not the one who pushed anything for EZ shipping so I was shocked to see that that was something that was testified by both of them.”

The Premier said this is one of the reasons he is eager to see what the final report from the COI will look like. He further said he expects there will be areas for improvement emerging from the report.

Fahie, who was addressing the media at a press conference last week, further accused the former governor of having ‘a lot of narrative in his head’ and having persons to help him play it out.

“One thing I know is that lie have speed and that truth have endurance,” the Premier asserted.

In the meantime, the Premier said he was fearful that businesses may now be hesitant to work with government because they feared having their reputation questioned, as may have been the case with EZ Shipping.

This same Premier denied knowing CSC when all of us know they were best friends so what’s new? The Premier thinks we in the BVI are stupid. Only he has brains. He says one thing this week and next week it’s a different story. This man has a serious problem that he needs help with. He tells too much fables. He is responsible for the COI when he was continuously going to the governors especially Gus to carry tales on the previous government and Gus did not know that he was dealing with someone who was incapable of telling the truth on anything.

  4. It was him says:

So tell us who pushed for it then. Was it Carvin? Was it the governor? Was it Sowande? Say who it was. You can’t just say it’s not you but can’t identify who it was? Is the answer – it was not a living soul but you!!?! Stop telling untruth and then go in the Methodist church playing saint. Stop playing with God!

If the Premier could blame poor Ralph for Claude’s contract, I am not expecting him to take responsibility for the EZ contract. This guy is a m**s.

This would’ve been laughable we’re it not for the murder this past weekend of my friend and a son of the soil! Tell me anyone; does this man have an actual conscience? Where are our present and past legislators moral compasses pointing? No one can tell me that guns along with drugs and criminals haven’t been in/out of the BVI during the past 24 months!! Even during IrMaria in 2017 we allowed seeds to be sown and reaping the bad fruits now.

Justice in the BVI is served up cold for those persons who are not affiliated with certain classes and the judicial system is a farce that is almost complicit by way of their arbitrary rulings!

Justice for JAIMEZ! RIP to a bonafide soldier! Gone way too soon!

What about the money for the elderly home up the hillside. its just dirt and bush now and a wall around it.

however, with all that money that was spent on that project, we should have already seen the elderly home up the hillside.

This l**r for a leader went from defending the barge contract saying it has saved the territory 100’s of million s per day…to …..he had nothing to do with it.

  16. L**R You pants on fire says:

This Premier is the MOST open public l**ng premier ever in the history of the BVI
I am not saying the others are completely truthful but to the PUBLIC . The more you open your mouth to the public , the more dishonesty comes out .
You had time to rebuff the EZ Shipping contract , yet still you said absolutely nothing . Only the gullible supporters would continue to believe your lord

  17. The Real Truth says:

It would seem somebody is having a memory lapse – the formal records of decisions will provide the truth if they have been left intact of course!

  18. EZ Shipping says:

Who he fooling ? He had to pay them back …

  19. Incompetent says:

If so much money is paid out on a monthly basis under your portfolio as Minister of Finance and you did not authorize. Then you are not fit to run the affairs of our country .

This shows that you are *** and highly ***.
Then greater financial mismanagement is likely to take place .
    You are such a big l**r .
The new generation has a brain of their own . Not like the old folks who are blinded by bribery and want to preserve BVI is for BVI at any cost . We are now wiser than that . The BVI is not going to runaway . We just have to accept reality. We love our country . That slogan should not be the defining factor to preserve and protect . We have to exist together . The BVI Premier will bring her like Angola , Zimbabaway and the other black ruled African countries . Can’t wait for COI report
