Premier says he’s had few disappointments during tenure

Ahead of his State of the Territory Address this evening, Premier Dr Natalio Wheatley says he has few disappointments from his administration’s nearly three years in office, arguing that effective leadership is about adapting to challenges rather than dwelling on setbacks.
Premier Wheatley made the comments during an interview on ZBVI Radio as he previewed the address, which is scheduled to be delivered at 4 p.m. today at the Noel Lloyd Positive Action Movement Park.
“I really don’t have many disappointments,” he said. “ Of course, we have situations that we didn’t anticipate, and that’s life. You have these wars, they cause prices to rise. You have to be able to intervene and do things to help your people. But it’s a sign of good leadership, being able to adapt to changing circumstances.”
The State of the Territory Address is expected to provide a comprehensive update on the government’s achievements, challenges and priorities, especially as the community enters its final stretch before the next election cycle.
Dr Wheatley acknowledged that the address could be one of the last major territorial reports before voters return to the polls. However, he said his focus remains on delivering on promises made to the public.
“Of course, as this administration is winding down, it’s extremely important that we focus on a number of priorities and deliver for the people based on what we promised,” he stated.
Among the achievements he highlighted for his administration was progress on the Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport expansion project. Premier Wheatley noted that the request for proposals for the first phase of the project has already generated significant interest and is expected to improve aircraft operations, particularly for American Airlines flights.
The Premier also pointed to tourism as one of the areas he is most excited to discuss during the address, citing record visitor arrivals and international recognition received by the territory in recent years.
When asked whether he was satisfied with his government’s performance so far, Dr Wheatley said he remains driven by the belief that more can always be achieved. “I’m never satisfied. I always wanted to deliver more for the people of the Virgin Islands,” the Premier said. “The people of the Virgin Islands don’t need leaders who are satisfied.”

So you not disappointed it take ayo 4/5 of a Decade just to clean out the admin complex? To then go back to tender after ayo said it was just the elevator needed to be done???
So his main disappointment is things like the war causing rising prices which was obviously not his fault, not projects that he’s failed on (won’t list them here as it would fill the page).
This man can’t take the blame for anything, always someone else. Get our unelected leader (ha ha) out now!

Cone on my people, be fair. The man is the best party thrower in the Caribbean. He got an A+ for that. Spent needed money for infrastructural development and social needs etc on parteh. Give him his A, nah.
