Prison escapee recaptured

Prison escapee Sebastian

The manhunt underway for 40-year-old prison escapee Germaine Sebastian has ended.

Sebastian was recaptured in the Vanterpool Estate area of Tortola Monday evening, police said in a short statement earlier tonight.

No other information was provided.

The inmate had escaped Her Majesty’s Prison on Saturday, October 30. According to the police, prison officials reported that Sebastian made his escape as he was leaving the prison farm and reentering the main entrance gate around 11 am on Saturday.

Sebastian has been serving a life sentence for manslaughter since 2006.

This is C***y nephew. Her brother son. He has a mental problem. Why she doesn’t help him? This family has a long history of these type of problems. The boy was sent to jail for a heinous crime but his mental issue was ignored. Help your family the best thing cuz.

    • Back where he belongs! says:

Good they recaptured him and returned him to where he belongs…behind bars.

He committed one of the most heinous crimes here in this territory, and it is not forgotten by those who were affected by it.

His original sentence was life imprisonment with review after 25 years. The fact that he absconded will affect that review and I personally hope he never sees the light of day as a free man.

His young victim still lays at the Greenland cemetery, a life filled with promise taken away by his evil hands. His family still mourns his loss.

I personally could care less about his mental health after what he did. His mental health is not my concern.

The only concern I have is that he remains under lock and key. I would have preferred he received the death penalty, but unfortunately that option was not available, and he got life.

He needs to continue paying the price for the heinous crime he committed. No sympathy here. Keep him locked up.

Lifetime prisoners and an escapee (any and all escapees )n my opinion should be housed in a maximum security facility which the VI does not have. THE uK or his parental homelands any volunteering Caribbean Island would be a suitable location. This is a safety issue.

  4. Ludlowy says:

No surprise that his whereabouts and location where he was found is a secret.
Could be he was sent on an errand. Anything is probable.
His photo was a secret until the public made noise.

    Thank God.
