RDA awards $83K contract to repair fence at Anegada Recreational Grounds

Anegada Recreational Grounds.

Sunleaf Construction has been awarded a $83,491.95 contract to repair the perimeter fence at the Anegada Recreation Ground.

The government issued the contract through the Recovery and Development Agency (RDA) recently.

A joint media release from the RDA and the Ministry of Sports & Culture said the restoration works to be carried out are to prevent further deterioration at the facility and to protect any future investment.

Sunleaf Construction bested six other bidders to earn the contract.

“This project is very significant to the people of Anegada as it continues to enhance the sporting facilities and provide a safe recreation space … It is a pleasure to work with Sunleaf Construction who was successful in the RDA’s competitive bidding process,” CEO of the RDA, Anthony McMaster has said.

Echoing similar sentiments, Sports Minister Dr Natalio Wheatley said he is pleased to see that works will commence on the grounds as it shows progress in the territory’s continued recovery efforts.

Unite BVI provided the funding source for the project.

The picture look like a Cemetery/Burial Ground. Nothing about this picture looks like it is a recreational facility. The company awarded this contract have a lot of work to do to make this look like a place to have Sporting & Recreational activities.

At least this would not cost $1million. Good thing it is not the Ministry of Education and Sports doing this project. Their walls does require 79 contractors with Major Contracts, petty contracts, work orders and cost million. What a big difference to the public purse. No smart rat around to eat it out.

  7. Anonymous says:

The RDA are building a fence. Really! Thought they were all about delivering big projects. What about schools, waste or how about moving the derelict boats.

  8. @ ASKING says:

IF THE GUY DID SOMETHING WRONG ON THE WALL HOW COME YOU ALL AIN’T CRUCIFIED HIM YET / AND HE AIN’T GOT ANY HIGH POWERED LAWYERS TO DEFEND HIMSELF / UNLIKE YOU ALL WHO ARE SPENDING HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO PROTECT YOURSELVES FROM WHO OR WHAT ? HOPEFULLY WILL BE REVEALED SOONER OR LATER
