Recent patrons of select bars and nightclubs urged to come forward for COVID testing

Government has issued a call to persons who have visited select local nightclubs recently to make themselves available to be tested for COVID-19.
A government-commissioned public bulletin released on Thursday, August 27 said persons who visited Ramon’s Bar in Huntums Ghut, The Vault in Long Bush, The Edge in Long Bush, and The Avenue at Mill Mall between August 15 and 22 should come forward.
In a subsequent broadcast Friday morning, Health Minister Carvin Malone extended the appeal to persons who visited any and all bars in the Fat Hogs Bay and Paraquita Bay areas during over the said period.
The bulletin, in the meantime, appealed to family members of those bar and nightclub attendees to come forward.
It said: “Any person or family members who are experiencing any symptoms relating to COVID-19 such as fever, cough, headache, fatigue, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, muscle aches or difficulty breathing are also urged to call or get tested.”
Persons are advised to contact the COVID-19 hotline at 284-852-7650 or the Public Health Division at 284-468-2274 for a referral. Testing is free, the bulletin stated.
Health Minister Carvin Malone recently indicated that Patient 12 was said to have frequented nightclubs in the territory.
The total number of cases detected in the territory is 26. Seventeen of those cases are still active, eight have recovered, and one has died.

Pride alone will be the reason many won’t go get tested. This is why a total short tdown was necessary, rather than have us free to roam. Even in this current curfew many are still not adhereing.
KEEP UM CLOSED INDEFINITELY…ALL WHOREHOUSES AND BARS
There are probably a lot of “workers” and customers from these clubs who wouldn’t come forward due to their immigration status here.
Too bad the VIP’s liquor license reform for CCT video and security guards at all bars serving alcohol was dropped earlier this year. The videos could have helped with the contact tracing of those patrons from 15 to 22 August.

Each of those facilities approved for operation under protocols? Obviously they were not then following or adhering to policy.
Any person who was attending any of these places should get tested, if they are not displaying symptoms, they could still be a carrier, and could pass the virus on to their families and loved ones.
It’s an impressive list of businesses. Kudos to the victim’s social life.
I would also strongly urge anyone who was up in the bars, clubs and strip clubs to go and get tested. Don’t sit back and wait until you are half dead to run to the hospital. If you are a carrier the more people you come in contact with,the more the virus is going to spread. I saw on CNN, A Doctor was saying the virus loves when people is in groups and the virus hops from one person to another within ten minutes.
