Reprehensible Act! Two arrested in parking lot shooting

Two persons have been arrested in relation to a shooting that took place last evening, March 20 at the parking lot adjacent to Bobby’s Supermarket in Road Town.

In a release issued today by the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF), police disclosed that they detained a male and a female in relation to last night’s incident, following a police operation this morning.

However, they said no charges have been laid in the matter so far.

According to the RVIPF, at least three vehicles and a storefront window at Bobby’s Supermarket were damaged during the incident.

“Initial inquiries suggest that, in [the] incident around 7pm, the target[s] were two individuals seated in one of the vehicles in the parking lot. However, no one was injured in that incident,” the RVIPF said.

Meanwhile, Police Commissioner Mark Collins denounced the incident, noting that it demonstrated a complete disregard for life and property.

“Any number of innocent customers to this popular supermarket could have been struck and killed, or seriously injured in this reprehensible act. This could have easily been another life lost and another family in grief. No dispute is worth the loss of a life. Never, ever let anyone in your presence justify carrying a firearm. There is no justification. No one wins in the end,” the Commissioner noted.

The RVIPF said it continues to appeal to the public to report the whereabouts of any illegal firearms or any individual in possession of these weapons.

Persons with information are being asked to contact the Special Investigation Team at 368-9155 or the RVIPF three-digit access number 311.

    • Charges says:

Once again the Belonger won’t be charged and will be given their guns back. It’s how it is in the BVI, lawless. The big question is how these guns are entering the Territory. It appears fining boats that provide income to the Territory takes precedent over finding guns and drugs. It is known who all these individuals are yet the government turns a blind eye to their own. Just disgusting.

This is attempted murder, the law here does move to slow to release information when dealing with certain cases

what is the big secret, and i sure with that arrest they did not locate the gun. So the weapon done get past on to someone or hide somewhere. until they get out on bail

They need to put up pictures because that’s a busy street lite up with cameras all over this case should be slowed quickly and individual sentence to no more than 25 years for attempted murder and many other chargers linked to this case
