Residents can now apply for renewable energy at BVIEC

Solar is a form of renewable energy

The BVI Electricity Corporation (BVIEC) has announced that it is now “going green” with its renewable energy programme.

A media release from the BVIEC said residents can now apply to receive renewable energy.

“Customers wishing to install distributed generation renewable energy are encouraged to either download the Small Scale Renewable Energy Connection from BVIEC’s website (bvielectrictity.com) or hard copy applications can be collected at branches located at Long Bush, Road Town, or the Valley, Virgin Gorda,” the Electricity Corporation said.

What a scam from the electric company. If I wouldn’t get deported I’d just boat in a few pallets of PV panels and the other gear and make a fortune installing solar for villas and resorts. This is a huge opportunity for the BVI to help their people out but they’re stuck in the past subsidising the electric company.
