ROSAN: Stop asking for Walwyn, start calling for Penn
Political commentator Cindy Rosan has argued that public attention is being directed at the wrong person, saying residents should stop questioning the visibility of former Opposition Leader Myron Walwyn and instead focus on holding current Opposition Leader Marlon Penn accountable.
Speaking on her Morning Facts talk show recently, Rosan said Walwyn appears to have accepted the message sent by both his party and sections of the public when he stepped aside from the Opposition Leader’s post.
She questioned why some of the same people who criticised his leadership are now asking why he is no longer front and centre.
“I think we need to give this man a break,” Rosan said. “We don’t want him to lead the NDP. We don’t want him as the head of the country. We don’t want him to go to the UK for us. We don’t want him as the Opposition Leader. He took the message and responded to it, and we’re still not happy.”
According to Rosan, Walwyn is now doing exactly what voters elected him to do by focusing on the Sixth District, noting that he regularly updates constituents and remains active in community matters.
She argued that the real question should now be directed at Penn, who assumed the role of Opposition Leader after Walwyn voluntarily stepped aside following the National Democratic Party’s internal leadership changes.
“Now, what I think the real question needs to be is, where is Honourable Marlon Penn?” Rosan said.
She contended that the energy surrounding the NDP has faded considerably since Penn became Opposition Leader, despite the excitement that followed the party’s reunification earlier this year.
Rosan pointed to what she described as the opposition’s muted response to Premier Dr Natalio Wheatley’s recent State of the Territory Address, noting that other political figures, including Mark Vanterpool, issued immediate public rebuttals.
“I don’t recall receiving anything from Marlon,” she said, adding that opposition parties should be responding publicly to the government’s major policy announcements, whether they agree or disagree.
While acknowledging that the NDP may be carrying out work behind the scenes, Rosan said the party has become largely invisible to the public.
“The whole thing around the National Democratic Party right now is absolutely dead,” she declared. “Honourable Myron Walwyn is around and breathing, so I think who we need to be worried about now is Honourable Marlon Penn, because he’s now the Opposition Leader, and that’s where our focus needs to be while Honourable Walwyn focuses on his district.”

Walwyn is right. Stay silent. They said Marlon rigged the NDP election because he could not win no other way and now he and power hungry Mitch can’t do the job. The chance that the NDP had to win is completely gone. Nobody and I mean nobody is following Marlon Penn. He does not have the leadership abilities that are needed now and so they don’t want Walwyn to lead because of his expat heritage but they want him to do the work to help them win. KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT MYRON!
Hon. Walwyn with Mark you become an unstoppable force . What are you and Hon.Skelton doing ?? Dont wait o the last minute when it appears opportunistic. Do it now when you can have input on the mission statement. This is your best path, we know you have some great ideas to implement for the betterment of the Territory but you have to be in a position where you can actually execute those programs .
I overheard a conversation with some VIP supporters who said they celebrated big time when Marlon and Mitch won. They said the NDP picked the two weakest candidates to lead them. NDP is really a joke.
Blah blah blah who cares a set of worms
The NDP cannot and will not win the general election without Myron and Mark being involved. Plain and simple
Meanwhile Myrun is conducting a survey in his district
NDP is DOA. With candidates like John Cline, Kedrick Pickering, Rosita Scatliffe, Shereen Flax and others I do not know which election NDP expect to win. And to make it worse their leader is total and complete waste of time. I am embarassed for them.
Is she Myron’s lawyer or spoke person?
I like Myron, Ronnie and mark as I want competent people to help run our country. Marlon is a waste of time.
All the mouth her crazy a** got why don’t she run. ?
I would say cyndi is spot on with her analysis, not like CSC with his heap a garbage. Marlon penn is part of the indeginous elites club and won’t Rick the boat with the greedy bill beneficiaries, and he promised both Skelton and John cline that Myron not getting that chance to go UK , because he Myron is about country first while they really want to secure personal political power and privileges.
The other day I heard natalio saying that they developed a tourism policy I couldn’t do a thing but shake my head when I remembered Myron stentorian voice calling out for a tourism policy when John cline said he was harassing the premier as a lawyer cross questioning and that he should stop or else he bishop John cline is going to do something about it, it was like he threatened Myron safety.
In the vicissitudes of time we will see what will become of these politicians, but my bad because they already hit the jackpot with that greedy bill.
One time I can say I agree with Cindy, Yal take every opportunity to drag down and mistreat Walwyn, now he is out of yal way LEAVE HIM ALONE! Look to the ones in the position, let that man be!
Yal…Yal ,,,Yal
Jeeez…the Black American ghetto street gibberish and self degrading mjmbo..has no place in the other parts of the Black countries..we must remain at least, one step above ..,thank U.keep that “yaal” shite up North.. wear a belt, fitch the chains etc..
YAWL -A Northern Southern drawl for” You all”..
Keep your identity with your ancestors and copy the African slangs and words attributed to your ancestors ,if it is that you are compelled to imitate a culture.,We not rednecks.
Myron you keep quiet please. Let Marlon and his cousin Natalio fight it out. None of them can lead anything. But if I had to choose one it would be Natalio. Marlon just like a big log of wood. He is low key power hungry, la*y and de**ptive. Plus he l**s like you could never believe. He want to lead. Let him lead. It will be another disaster like the 2023 elections. NDP congress people had got to be out of their minds to vote the way they did. They sabotage their own party. Marlon and Mitch? Come on man!
Watch BVI COI June 20 & 21,2021.
I have always been an NDP suppirter but with Marlon at the head I cant support them anymore. So next election i will be at the beach!
Could not have said it better.
That is the plain truth.
VIP win by default again because there is no opposition. The turn out at the polls will be about 45%
It’s the truth! No one studying Mitch or Marlon. Those who voted in the last congress for NDP thought it was going unfold for better, nope it’s worst. Cindy telling Facts!!
