Rosan to announce election intentions by year end

Cindy Rosan

Before the month ends, the public should know whether social commentator Cindy Rosan will contest the next general election that is constitutionally due by May 2023.

“I will make a final announcement at the end of the year. I’m observing the climate and all that has transpired to date,” Rosan told BVI News in an invited comment this week.

Rosan, an outspoken political commentator, was one of the founding members of the Reform Action Alliance (RAA), which emerged in the lead-up to the 2019 general elections.

At the time, the RAA “endorsed” candidates from other parties they said ‘reflect their vision on values’.

When asked whether the RAA will be presenting candidates for the potential election in 2023, Rosan told BVI News that “the RAA is not a party, has never been. It’s a reform action group. Last election, we endorsed candidates and intend to do so in the upcoming elections.”

Rosan’s indication that she will announce whether she plans to run for office comes at a time when many are calling for more women to enter politics and bring a fresh perspective that may help to stabilise the BVI.

However, to date, former legislator Dr Kedrick Pickering is the only person who has publicly stated that he will be contesting the next election.

Like Rosan, former speaker of the House of Assembly Julian Willock has stated that he will soon announce whether he intends to run for office in the territory.

Willock is a member of the Virgin Islands Party.

OOh wow, going from worst to horrible. If that is the level of political and intellectual acumen we have to look forward to, particularly in these challenging times we are in, then we are in serious trouble.

Nothing personal against the lady, just not prepared for political leadership on the level that is needed right here and now.

The BVI is now at a cross road politically.

Hence, it needs well equipt persons who are intellectually and politically trained, knowledgable and with some experience, known to have a solid moral and good integrity inner core, some administrative, legislative and economic knowledge.

It is time we elect people who know something about the job. Novices and hungry mouths/pockets will only get us more of the same.

Well, someone with a whole bunch of opinion and nothing else to offer surely won’t make that much difference to the state of things at the moment. I think we should just automatically ‘unanimously’ vote for whomever has the largest Insta’ following. Why not?

I thought we say we stop putting in rats to mind cheese going forward!

This election is for stable minded people who are not going in with personal interest as a priority.

Leave Cindy right where she is on the side line!

    Thank you!

Cindy, although you are not 100%, I think that passion gived you the confidence and anger to stand up and speak out which in turn opened a ton of problems people turned a blind eye to and refuse to discuss. We now have a high school and courthouse that they had no plans of building and finishing.
Suddenly, people are talking about raining in their parade. You fought for the roads etc. And for that I will give my support to your crazy @ss. You have my vote.

Your writing looks familiar like the African commentator supporting Sin Dy!

Notice I spelt her name with an S and not a C.

You want me to risk putting a Sinner to represent we during the most critical election ever in the history of the VI??????!!!!

Are you good in your head?????!!!

She has displayed the type of behavior that is unsatisfactory to the public eye.

Before you come to run the House of Assembly you have to put your house in order and that she has not done.

Battle after battle after battle from intimate matters to dog matters affecting her family and making het friends feel shame or some kind of way.

At the end of the day those with a few dollors used her as a mouth piece which In turn motivated her till this day but the image has already been tarnished.

Remember this Sin-dy! “If you live inna glass house, don’t throw stoneeeeee!

I couldn’t have said it any better. The girl might have props for being out spoken and standing up for what she believes. But she needs to definitely change her demeanor in doing so. No matter how her efforts are welcoming in fighting for what’s Right, her means in going about such is very tacky and not good at all. Ain’t no way Persons of great attention and progress for the Territory will put ants into an already infested ants nest.

  27. Walker says:

Cindy is beautiful and better than most of the masked leaders on show. I think she will do a better job than all of her critics. She has vented her honest feeling and for that she is vilified. Give her the opportunity and I guarantee you she will do a phenomenal job. Take your minds out of the gutter, be respectful and together build a better not bitter Virgin Islands.

  29. @fairplay says:

Yes tis true, but plenty horsefaces grace the race tracks trying to win.
Some are winners not all. Having a horse face with a mouth to suit is not qualification to wjn.

  30. Hmmm says:

Did I miss something? She already declared that she was running as an independent which was reported by VINO on March 8th after she had the Woman’s day event at Lambert. SMH
