Royal Knights, RTW to clash in local T20 cricket finals

Royal Knights and Road Town Wholesale (RTW) are through to the final of the 2019 BVICA-NAGICO T20 cricket tournament.

Playing in the first semi-final match held at the Greenland Recreational Grounds on Sunday, July 14, Royal Knights defeated Grenada CC by 53 runs.

The Knights batted first and posted a mammoth total of 255 runs for seven wickets from their 20 overs. Opening batsman Richard Fredricks posted a record-breaking top score of 155 runs, including 12 sixes and 11 fours.

For Grenada CC, Rodney Marryshow was the pick of the bowlers, ending with figures of three wickets for 43 runs from his four overs bowled.

Chasing the massive target required for victory, Grenada CC managed only 202 runs for nine wickets from their 20 overs.

Captain Derol Redhead led the batting for his side, top-scoring with 52 runs while Marryshow followed with a knock of 46.

For the Knights, Captain Joemal Lafleur shone with the ball to end as ‘best bowler’, taking three wickets for only 15 runs from his three overs bowled. Teammate Julian St Claire also picked up three wickets but went for 43 runs from four overs.

Cavaliers vs RTW

Meanwhile, in the second semi-final game which went down to the wire, RTW pulled off an upset to defeat tournament favourites Cavaliers CC to win by three runs.

RTW was sent into bat and posted 192 runs for nine wickets from their 20 overs. Sheldon John top-scored with 77 while Austin McDowall followed with 35 runs.
Captain Vishaldev Bharat impressed with the ball for Cavaliers, ending with four wickets for 35 runs from his three overs bowled.

In reply, chasing 193 for victory, Cavaliers managed only 189 runs for nine wickets, to pick up only their second loss of the tournament.

Bharat and Tajram Nankisore both top-scored with 42 runs, but it was the bowling performance of John, who had earlier starred with the bat, that stole the show.

He ended with figures of three wickets for 34 runs from his four overs. The final is set for Sunday, July 21 at the Greenland Recreational Grounds at 1:30 pm while the third-place match between Cavaliers and Grenada CC is set to begin at 9 am.

You sound absolutely stupid. Cavaliers is a very cocky team. Not humble at all. Your players and supporters hate other teams and always have negative things to say. Your suporters even go on social media with thier nasty behaviour. Who vex, vex! Nothing better than watching Royal Knights winning their game against Cavaliers. That should hold y’all for a while. Btw Royal Knights and Vikings has food, drinks, and family too!

Check your mental health please people I am not a cricket fan but was there a few time and every conner I go people had to say something about that team and I wonder why but then realize that and understand that those guys are humble in their own way the play as a team and maybe cocky in their own way also but just because the leave the family just to invest in the sports for free so they intend to put of a fight and when the win the feel bold but because they work so hard you here bashing give all the teams credit man then again watching you island people fight against each other is a interested
