Search on for wanted man who escaped custody on VG

The Virgin Gorda Police Station

The police are on the hunt for 29-year-old Jamal Freeman who allegedly escaped custody in handcuffs on January 1.

A report from the police said that Freeman escaped while at the Nurse Iris O’Neal Clinic in Virgin Gorda seeking medical attention.

Our sources say the suspect was arrested in connection with a dinghy that went missing on the sister island sometime in November.

It is understood that while in custody, the suspect told the cops he was feeling ill and needed to see a doctor. The police transported him to the Nurse Iris O’Neal Clinic, and while waiting for medical attention, the prisoner allegedly found a way to escape the facility.

Our news centre was not able to ascertain whether the suspect received the medical attention he requested. Sources say the cops searched the Virgin Gorda community extensively as they tried to apprehend the suspect.

Persons with any information regarding the whereabouts of Jamal Freeman are asked to contact the RVIPF Intelligence Unit at 368-9339 or 368-9593.

Really?? the Police needs to step up or be replaced by UK officers that are not afraid to uphold the law.
Drugs, unlicensed scooters. illegal trucks . Wild West syndrome.
Get UK Officers out here on 6 month rotation. it can be fresh recruits, then the favoritism and the turning a blind eye will dissapear.

So He was already in custody when He was taken to the Clinc. Wouldn’t He be under Police Guard before and after treatment taken back to Lock up? This just doesn’t make sense to me. Then again in BVI does anything make sense?
