Police have opened an investigation into an armed robbery at Paradise Bar, Cane Garden Bay on Sunday night where shots were fired.

At least three shots were fired but no one was injured in the reported incident, police said.

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force said three masked men entered the establishment around 11pm and ‘demanded money’.  They made off with an unspecified amount of cash believed to be Paradise Bar’s business proceeds.

Local law enforcers are now seeking the public’s assistance in locating the assailants and their guns.

This latest incident comes days after a shooting incident Baugher’s Bay and on Virgin Gorda. A man was injured in both those incidents. These victims are now nursing gunshot wounds at Peebles hospital.

Acting Commissioner of Police Alwin James said he hopes this seeming resurgence of gun crime does not mar the upcoming emancipation festivities.

“Please assist us with any information that can help in identifying the perpetrators in these incidents,” he urged in a public message Monday afternoon, July 23.

Persons with information can contact the RVIPF through its three-digit access number ‘311’ or contact the Intelligence Unit at 368-9339.

If the community choose to keep quiet about murders, I doubt they will share info on a robbery…..just saying

All the guns either need to go away entirely (best option) or we should have a basic right to own them too (if the best option doesn’t work). There is a saying, you don’t bring a knife to a gun fight. The police have had an extraordinary amount of gun issues lately and they are doing their best to stop it. They can only provide so much personal protection for every citizen. It is up to us as individuals to protect ourselves when the police cannot be everywhere at once. Yes this will bother some of us but properly trained and properly certified citizens can help ease the growing pressure on the police force. Especially if hush hush’s comment has some truth.

what happened to the cctv??? It doesn’t have to be monitored, just flood the pace with cctv at least you will have some kind of information to go on….
also encourage private individuals to put these on their properties…reduce the importation tax as well.

The start of gun violence started about 8 years ago when that 17 year old (related to police/court person) robbed the tourist at gunpoint in R’town. Nothing was done to him (juvenile/family police/court friend) Remember “no one has guns in BVI’s” so your safe! N O T! Nothing but robbery’s all over town now (town being out isl’s also)
last big items: police woman who warned her buddies police on the way– I can’t believe it took since 2013? Fact is she put her fellow officers in much danger warning the bad guys– second was that customs guy with the bling. What is going on with the authority in your country? Yea blame STT- don’t look within. Any chance we can blame the caucasians for this?

moment this causes a tourist issue this gonna be a real big problem. Them that carry more cash to spend, a more likely target as desperate people show desperation.
