Strange aircraft sighting part of planned stop — Governor’s Office

The UK aircraft in question at the TB Lettsome International Airport.

Concerns from some residents about an unfamiliar aircraft spotted the BVI’s airspace yesterday have been eased after an explanation was presented by the Governor’s Office.

Several residents commented throughout the day about the sighting of the unusual aircraft, with some also questioning its purpose in the territory.

However, a Facebook post from the Governor’s Office revealed that the mysterious aircraft was simply a new A400 from the UK’s Royal Air Force (RAF) fleet which was welcomed at the Terrance B Lettsome International Airport yesterday.

According to the Governor’s Office, the planned stop was part of the RAF’s essential training in the region to ensure that crews have valuable familiarisation of landing such large aircraft in the BVI if an emergency were to arise.

Duty Manager at the airport, and aspiring pilot, Cherno Turnbull, reportedly got the unique opportunity of flying on the RAF A400 when the crew invited him to take a seat in the cockpit as they completed a take-off and landing drill.

On the brief visit, the crew also spoke with several airport officials on a range of matters, including disaster response in the territory.

Furthermore, the Governor’s Office indicated that the UK maintains a Royal Navy vessel within the region throughout the hurricane season, prepared to aid the BVI in the event of a disaster.

The Office issued a reminder that it is important that everyone takes necessary steps to prepare, particularly as the peak of the hurricane season approaches.

Persons were encouraged to visit the DDM’s website and social media platforms for advice and tips on hurricane preparedness.

Only BVIslanders do wrong things? You better scatter your tail from here with this. If you want to find the epicenter of corruption go the U.K. They have been thieving, manipulating and enslaving both physically and mentally since Rock of Ages was a Peeble. Cart your backside from trying to make us sound worse than anybody else. Some stupid people can’t see that this is all part of your slavery brainwashing where you made us feel like we were of no value.

I am very glad the UK ensures it can get help to us quickly. I remember how fast the post Irma looting stopped once a few Royal Marines got here; it was really valuable help.

I think the ship got here the day after the storm if I remember correctly.

What a shame we didn’t take the $400m loan guarantee. Oh well, we know better!

We saw the help again with COVID vaccine; and indeed with the CoI.

    Thank you, UK!

practicing landing here for the takeover. Royal marines and SAS shock troops were here looking around.

    Soon come!

  14. hm says:

Man they are really talking crap in these comments.

First of all the help that came after the hurricane came way too late certainly not the next day and came with a set of body bags & bird food expecting we’d mostly be dead. Besides in town everyone else was in their communities as normal no police presence.

Second besides persons panicking for food all that looting was exacerbated by the fact that there was a majority of PEOPLE who had no family network to depend on and promptly left the BVI ASAP.

Thirdly do you all still believe the UK Navy ship had to ask to guard us during COVID. Mystery aircraft touches down. No I think they knew it would be refused & made a show of asking permission.

TO catch criminals all this foolery is justified yet its us the people who suffered during COVID from lack of protection & suffering now from lack of progress.

Besides the script of the navy refusal & barges the UK didn’t care whether we lived or died during COVID judging by their actions.

The way they handled COVID domestically lead to political upheaval in the UK. That would have translated into more deaths here had local leaders not been in charge. Facts.

  17. VI Concern says:

let me put things in perspective… earlier there was a report of below average activity for hurricane season. Now all of a sudden it change above average activity.

In always puzzles me if these storms a re natural.. how can some one predict the amount of storms as well as there winds category and estimated wind speed. Like they are the ones making the storms.

Mow look this navy planes like ones that landed here after hurricane Irma doing test landing in the BVI.

I don’t about y’all but this here seems to fishy to me! I swear
