Student charged after assaulting ESHS security guard
A student has been charged with common assault after allegedly punching a security guard during an incident at Elmore Stoutt High School (ESHS) last week.
BVI News understands the accused male student was charged after police completed an investigation into the altercation. His age and grade are unknown.
According to our sources, some time last week, a vehicle carrying three students arrived at one of the school’s gates that is not normally used for entry.
The security guard reportedly instructed the students to use another entrance where they could be logged before accessing the campus. However, one of the students allegedly became upset, attempted to open the gate himself and got into a heated argument with the guard.
During the confrontation, the student allegedly punched the security officer in the face before returning to the vehicle, which then drove away. The security guard later reported the matter to police. It’s unclear whether he had to seek medical attention after the altercation.
Sources told BVI News that the student was later arrested and told investigators of previous encounters with the security officer.
It remains unclear whether the matter will proceed to court.
In the meantime, the incident comes amid growing concern about student behaviour across the territory. In recent months, educators, parents and members of the public have raised alarm over reports of increasing indiscipline, including fights, threats against teachers and security personnel, and other disruptive conduct on school campuses.
The latest incident is expected to add to calls for stronger measures to address student misconduct and improve safety for staff and students at the territory’s schools.

Young Black male with ties to the CARICOM murder enchantment chain.
The chosen human building blocks of these VI enabling the darkies’ pastime of self destruct and maintaining the century old blame game.
The student that did that is a criminal. What’s more dangerous is the parent or parents would say ( not my child) dem don’t do things like that and find all sorts of excuses. The country gone to the dawgs.
Where is Ms.Peola Jones she needs to be head of security, she knew children by name if not she had know who you belonged to.
Y a Pu allu a kill wid wuk and allu ruding pickney, nieces and nephews?. When she was staff, guards still got beatup..children need to learn from home to keep them hands to themselves.
stop hiring women and small man guards, he would never have tried that with a big man
I concur
Seems to me the Security Guard was following the rules, but this Hot Head wanted his own way, and when he could not get his own way, resorted to violence. Unacceptable.
Good he was arrested. Hope he gets kicked out of the school next because he clearly cannot follow the rules and has proven he is violent.
He was instructed allegedly by the security guard to enter the campus at another entrance where the vehicles entrance could have been logged. But no, he took exception to that, and resorted to being a Hot Head. Well, there is a place for Hot Heads.
A kid behaving this way does not do these kinds of things in isolation. I would bet he has a history of bad behavior, impulsivity, rudeness, and anti-scoial behevior. Prove me wrong.
I have zero tolerance for these kind of students. They need to learn the hard way. He needs to face the consequences of his actions inclusive of possibly being expelled from the school.
that wannabe ganster should be sent home permanently and his holy parents take care of their angel / as they are always defending them . And as I said before the parents need to have their kids do a blood test to make durd their children bare clean , but they are afraid of what they might find in the system of their wannabe holy children, BUT QUICH TO TAKE UP ARMS TO DEFEND THEM WHEN THEY ESPOSE THEMSELVES SO THE PARENTS AND THEIR CHILDREN SHOULD BE FULLY CHARGED FOR THEIR CRIMINAL ACTIONS AS AN ADULT ( OF YOU PLAYING GANSTER YOU SHOULD BE CHARGED AS ONE ) the security guard were probably lucky , it was a 13 year old in virgin gorda who was charged for being in possession of an ( AK -47 ) ah guess we ain’t getting the message/ OR CLOSING OUR EYES TO IT / ARE GOING TO WAIT UNTILL ONE ONE OF YOUR CHILDREN WALK ON THE SCHOOL GROUNDS AND DO WHAT YHE SEE GOING ON IN THE STATES WHEN STUDENTS GO ON A KILLING SPREE / AND THEN SAY THEY HAD A MENTAL DISORDER ? BREAKDOWN ETC / WHEN CRACKHEADS FLIP OUT THEY WILL FLEX OFF THEMSELVES ON ANYBODY -ANYTHING -ANYWHERE NO MERCY IS SHOWN WHEN THEY ARE IN THEIR FANTASY MODE . HOPEFULLY NO ONE HAS TO DIE FIRST . WE GOT TO BE ( P R O A C T I V E ) IF NOT , THEN HOPEFULLY THE WOULD START ON THEIR HYPOCRITE PARENTS , WHO’S NURTURING AND ALWAYS PROTECTING THEIR ENTITLED CHILDREN US .
Don’t worry, they’ll have a new principal soon and she will fix everything since she was the chosen one and thought the past principal didn’t know what she was doing
That school needs a strong male presence as the principal. These young men have little respect for some males much less females. We seem to think suspending for every little thing and quite often is the problem. Put proper effective disciplinary measures in place and make the cadet corp part of the school operations and curriculum. I have never seen education and our children in a bigger mess than it is now. Titles, promotions and still we seem to be sinking. These children need real help and they are bawling for it. Let’s save our future .
What are the progressive disciplinary measures and processes for students? I remember my school days of detention when homework or assignments were not completed. Someone in MEC pleae respond. Seems that the troublesome students who are identified should be placed on some sort of special status for their behaviors. Failure to comply with any process improvement plans would result in further actions resulting in parental charges and penalties.
Punk a** kid needs a good beat down hitting on a security guard for doing his duty.
That kid lucky I was not the security guard he raise his hand to. I would have break every bone in the kids face. As an adult, I always say if one of these kids come to me with the S be it boy or girl I am going to beat them like I am beating an adult my age. Who vex vex. Stay vex
Most ghetto school in bvi
. sometimes you wonder who raising these kids but when you look at the parents you understand why them so unruly.
No proper role models in them life.
Most cases them parents either criminals or a single mother who breed for criminals then get left on the side of the road like a used garbage bag
Then they raise their kids just like them and think they can do no wrong. Daughters copy them and dress like prostitutes only to end up drinking, partying, having intercourse and smoking just like them long before then reach adults . Then the Sons raise up emotional just like them and follow their deadbeat father’s footsteps and become menaces to society
All schools got their bad students even private schools they just keep their things under wraps but eshs seems to want to out do everybody making the good decent students look bad
There are good students, teachers and parents
It seems that disrespectful ratio is overcoming the respectful
Factors that are enabling this behavior
1. It needs either a male or female principal who has not family ties with parents in the society.
Too often Administrators compromise the system. Because parents children belong to so so
2. Parents need to show children tough love when they fuss at home to comply with the school rules
3. Teachers need to to set boundaries and do not get down to the children level .in frienship and gossiping with selective students about other students and teachers
4. Teachers need to dress properly to have an air of respect and balance
Elmore Stoutt is not a bad school. It actually has the best extracurricular programs in the territory, great students, amazing athletes and upstanding citizens are borne there.
The school is strict, on everyone, students who are respectful and actually go to school to learn are being scrutinized daily and share spaces with those who obviously and blatantly are there to cause discourse and issue.
It’s becoming a difficult place for those who want to learn.
The culture of the school needs change, no violence, no bullying policies need to be put in place. You hit someone, if not in self defense, you’re out.
Children and the adults need to feel safe and protected; mind you not like they’re in prison. The mind should be free and open to learn, so we must be conscious of how the learning environment is affected by rules and regulations put in place.
The youth that clearly shouldn’t be there, and /or don’t want to be should be handed their letter to leave. No violence, no bullying policies – so much will change from that alone.
I too agree that Elmore Stoutt High School is not a bad school, but it is definitely overcrowded. I think the number is almost 2,000 on that small campus without a cafeteria, gym and library.
I try not to criticise, so I will simply say that it is important that the Education Ministry looks into separating the juniors from the seniors and constructing a library, staffed with proper persons for supervision. A gym is important as well and a cafeteria. We are spending money hands over fists and the important things for our children are not being done. For instance, the economic zone in Huntums Ghut and four school buses, maybe 2, were not as important as these things. We have to do better for our children and the younger generation. They deserve a school experience unlike everyone else around the world. We can do better.
That school is the worse. Real ghetto things they on
