Summer Sizzle BVI wraps another successful staging
The curtains have closed on the 16th annual Summer Sizzle BVI, ending six days of fashion, culture and luxury experiences that once again placed the BVI in the international spotlight.
Held from July 15 to 20, the premier lifestyle event attracted designers, models, influencers and visitors from across the region and beyond, with the Global Glamour Runway Show serving as the undisputed highlight of the week.
Staged on Saturday night, the signature runway production featured collections from an impressive lineup of internationally acclaimed and Caribbean designers, including Marc Bouwer, Oliver Tolentino, Chuks Collins, Don Morphy, Kent Anthony, Cesar Galindo and others.
Celebrity host Crystle Stewart, actress, entrepreneur and former Miss USA, added star power to the evening as guests enjoyed an elegant showcase of couture, swimwear and contemporary fashion. Here are highlights captured by BVI News photographer Andre ‘Shadow’ Dawson:

An impressive collection considering that the human body was not designed for clothes. It’s difficult to find something to hook on to stop everything fallen down, and apart from keeping warm in a cold climate and protecting against insect bights in the tropics, the principal reasons for wearing clothes are contrary to each other: modesty and sexual attraction.
The nude figure is less sexually provocative than one that is scantily dressed. The eye takes in the beauty of the body as a whole rather than being drawn to the parts tantalisingly hidden in the name of decency.
After a lifetime of creating of hundreds of paintings and scores of sculptures in my series “Daughters of the Caribbean Sun”, I am of the opinion that only the nude is well dressed.
