Teen girls from VG arrested for weed before gun find

Not the marijuana mentioned in the storyeen girls from VG arrested for weed

BVI News understands that two teenage girls from Virgin Gorda were recently arrested after police found marijuana inside the vehicle in which they were traveling.

The arrest took place on Tortola after police noticed the skimpily dressed young women entering a car with two men. The cops demanded a search and found the drug.

The four occupants were arrested but it is understood that the girls were later released after their parents were summoned to the station. Our news centre was told that they were not formally charged for the drug.

It’s also understood that the police held the young men for a longer time and returned to the community where the arrest was made to conduct further investigations. It’s understood that they found a firearm and inquired which of the men owned the weapon.

Highly placed sources told our news centre that one of the men admitted that the gun was his, resulting in the release of the other detainee.

It’s also understood that the young man who confessed was charged for the weapon but it’s uncertain whether he was released on bail and when he is set to appear in court to answer to the charge against him.

It’s also unclear whether he accepted culpability for drugs and will shoulder that charge as well.

“The arrest took place on Tortola after police noticed the skimpily dressed young women entering a car with two men. The cops demanded a search and found the drug.”

The above statement is very troubling, as it exposes policing that is bordering on dictatorial and Nazism practices.

For example, does law enforcement now have the power to arbitrarily arrest anyone, without reasonable suspicion of, our are in the act of committing a crime, based solely on how he/she is attired?

Is it illegal to be dressed skimpily?

And, does law enforcement now have the power to arbitrarily search anyone without probable cause based solely on how he/she is attired?

If so, then the BVI is truly now a dictatorship and approaching the likes of Nazi and Stalin like regimes, where peoples rights and freedoms are managed at the discretion of the state law enforcement apparatuses, where one can be arrested and searched just by being noticed by the police. That is truly Gestapo policing.

well if they have multiple big gold chains good chance they are involved in the drug trade unless they run their own business, and if that includes heavy trucks or water taxis then there is a very good chance that they are also invloved in the drug trade.

People under 30 without prior working background suddenly can buy multiple trucks at over $100k each and a boat at over $500k you do the math.

Poilce keep doing the work but if you charge someone for a gun and they admit it, send them to jail there and then for 5 years .

  11. They are using says:

They are using the teen age girls as local drug and gun mules. Who would suspect a normal looking teen walking down the street carrying a back pack full of drugs or a gun(s)? I know a friend of a friend teenage daughter who is serving 5 years in the slammer up in the States for getting caught by the police for getting in a car with two men, the men bailed out the car and ran off leaving her holding the bag and catching the charge. If she had listened to her mother’s advice, she would not be spending 5 years in the slammer. In the States if you are under 18, they will send you off to Juvenile jail until the age of 18 then they ship you off to prison with the big boys and girls.

  12. @ Resident says:

Your thoughts are old fashion and antiquated. Every living soul has what is known as HUMAN RIGHTS.

No one or entity has the right to stop and search without reasonable cause or reasonable articuable suspicion of committing a crime or have committed a crime.

Further, no one should acousted and arreste for thhis/her attire, as long as it is not offensive to the general public.

And if that is a lawful problem, then evry carnival Jovert should considered illegal relative to lublic attire.

Not sying the young girls were right to have illegal substances in their possession, but the does not permit any authority to stop, search and arrest without reasonable and articuable suspicion.

“Our news centre was told that they were not formally charged for the drug.”

A lot of you are living in a fantasy land & over doing the criminal element. What I took from this story is weed is de-facto decriminalized.

Let me point out the fantasy… Demonizing young ladies call them drug runners all of this is nonsense. If a young lady wants extra money all she has to do is find a man who will give it to her for nothing lets be real.

The people into those things are happily walking down the street arms swinging or riding bikes and driving in their cars with their own drugs. You have to be an assist to get caught riding dirty.

This isnt the states where the police have a quota to fill & discriminate against out of state drivers.

If people dont smell like a skunk with smoke coming out the car and leave the police with no choice or drive like a drunk or daredevil then there’s nothing to worry about. The people do have rights which are mostly respected.

In fact it used to be (as in easier this year) rare to see a police car on a Sunday drive. The one car on the road is the one that caught them? Fantasy.

Those young men likely had police interested in them due to the gun the article said the police returned to look for.

  17. @@@gadaman says:

Stop judging. You know not how the people got their oney. There are banks you know, and many locals have land and family with land. Stop the judgemental and jaelous filled comments.
