Traffic accident at Sophie Bay leads to road closure

The main road from East End to Road Town on Tortola has been temporarily closed at Sophie Bay.

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force issued that notice moments ago due to a major traffic accident on Sophie Bay Hill.

A truck overturned on the thoroughfare, leaving debris from its cargo scattered across the road.

It is not clear whether anyone was injured in the early morning accident but emergency responders were on scene at publication time.

In the meantime, motorists are asked to use alternate routes.

  4. @WHY says:

it’s not the truck , it’s up to the driver to make sure the truck is working PROPERLY and whatever he is going vto take from point A to point B , is PROPERLY SECURED , before he even attempts to make that journey (point blank ) ESPECIALLY AFTER THAT FATAL CRASH AT THE FOOT OF JOSE HILL , WITH THE SEWER TRUCK
