Two more test positive positive for COVID-19! Total recorded cases now at 11

Two more persons in the British Virgin Islands have tested positive for the virus that causes COVID-19.

This brings the total overall number of persons who have tested positive in the BVI to 11. Two are active, eight have fully recovered, and one died.

Health Minister Carvin Malone said in a national broadcast moments ago that these two new cases are imported.

“Please note that both patients had recently returned to the territory, quarantined, and in accordance with the established health protocols, were tested at the end of their 14-day quarantine period,” he stated

The minister said both persons are exhibiting mild symptoms and will remain in isolation while being monitored, treated, and retested until recovered.

“This is another instance where our investments in various border control measures are surviving the intended purpose of detected reported cases and containing them in ways that limit the possibility of person-to-person transmission of the virus throughout the territory,” the minister stated.

In the meantime, Malone also announced that a total of 1,890 persons have been tested in the territory so far and six of the results from those tests are pending.

They should let all who found positive for COVID pay the full $8,000 since they are a risk for all those that come in contact with them.

    @ No nonsense
You are a f*** fool. That sh** that you talk is Nonsense. So you are saying don’t test people and you won’t find cases. My God, What Lunacy.

  12. Thoughtful Sailor says:

It seems clear that the returnees are not taking tests before they return. Why not? Other jurisdictions require it. We have been very lucky that the ones who test positive here have not infected the other people they have flown with…..or have they? Would be interesting to know if patients #10 and #11 were on the flight with #9.
