BVI News understands that a minor has been taken into custody concerning the fatal stabbing of a man on Virgin Gorda on Saturday, December 3.

Highly-placed sources told our news centre that this person of interest is a teenage boy no older than 16 years old.

Our news centre was told that the teen and the stab victim are related. It is alleged that the two got into an altercation Saturday evening when things escalated. The teen allegedly used an unspecified weapon to inflict multiple wounds on his relative.

The stab victim was then taken to the medical centre on Virgin Gorda where he succumbed to his injuries. Police confirmed the fatal stabbing incident to our news centre last night and said investigations are ongoing.

Reports are that the minor has been charged but the exact nature of the charge or charges is not immediately clear to our news centre.

While BVI News has learnt the identities of both parties, their identities will not be published at this time as the matter involves a minor.

More information will be provided as it becomes available.

People, please be careful with your comments.

These are two very good families who are suffering badly right now. Have some compassion at this awful time in their lives.

My heart goes out to both families. May God give them strength to get through the pain and anguish.

To VG Proud..it is one family. They are related.
To Charge..my same sentiments. 23 to 16.. but Self Defence is always a legal issue to be determined in the court. So let us wait.

BVI take note. The infamous Caribbean curse is now rampant in the BVI .It’s all downhill from here.

What they are carrying in truth is a DNA and a curse that is evident in a specific demographic. There is no denying. Research the crime rate in the Caribbean. Start with 2022 previous. Same Islands top the list and this has been the case as far back as you can research.

A man has a right to defend himself, if the deceased was the aggressor and the younger got the upper hand while severely assaulted and defended himself to ward off his attacker release the youth. Sincere regrets to all parties. VG we have lost a son, we need not lose both because of this tragedy, learn from this and heal. If the evidence favors the youth, there is no reason why he should endure hardship.

did he act like a man or did he respond how most 16 years would if they were being attacked?

  12. Woww says:

He was tired of being bullied by his own relative. He complained many times before to his parents and nothing was done. The young one confronted him and left to go back in his home. The other got away from his father to run over to the other house to beat the boy!? It’s obvious he’s had enough. It is self defense! You reap what you sow! I feel bad for both parties. And hope they can reconcile as a family.
