UPDATE: Suspect in custody, gunshot victim stable

A suspect is in police custody in connection to the shooting on Virgin Gorda on Tuesday, July 10.

The suspect is now being held at the Virgin Gorda Police Station for questioning, the Royal Virgin Islands Police Force said it a brief media release.

Police said the victim of the shooting has been hospitalised but is said to be in stable condition. However, neither the name of the male victim or the suspect has been released.

Investigations are ongoing.

Details of the reported incident are still sketchy but BVI News will provide more information as it becomes available.

Tuesday’s incident is believed to be the latest shooting in several weeks.
