A vehicle has overturned just opposite the entrance of Mcnamara off Waterfront Drive on Tortola.

The accident is believed to have happened some time between 5 am and 7:30 am on Saturday, May 20.

It is not clear whether the driver of the vehicle sustained any serious injuries from the crash that seemed to only involve one vehicle.

When BVI News visited the scene at 7:30 am, neither the driver, the police, nor onlookers were present. It is not clear whether any passengers were on board at the time of the crash nor is it clear what caused the accident.

A pair of mismatched slippers were left at the scene.

In the meantime, the vehicle was observed to have sustained considerable damage. Two of the wheels had been badly bent, the front bumper had been dislodged, and the vehicle’s windows — to include the front and back windshield — were either broken or shattered.

BVI News will provide more information when it becomes available.

Looks to me like that vehicle was dumped there no skid marks I can see. Probably fell off one of the well maintained trucks that operate here.

What’s the rush. Always speeding coming up that Road when I am walking in the Morning I always cautious watching them carefully. Actually saw one swagging left to right like the driver was sleeping and shouted wake up boss,,. Drivers if you are coming off work, or from your chick and you start driving and realize you are tired and sleepy, pull on the side, off the Road, Park and sleep.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again “a well rested, sober, person driving the speed limit and paying due care and attention, could not manage to do that”

Peolpe are just, well people. Judgemental, biased, arrogant all fueled by ignorance.

To be ignorant doesn not mean one is not intelligent , it measn one simply does not know, does not possess the authentic facts of an idea or ovvurence.

Case in point, the accident. Many have stated their unimformed and opinionated view point.

Trut fact is, the commenters were doing so with mere speculation.

Fact is, i was there a few feet away sitting off by the side by myself gazing at and studying the stars.

Then came down the high way two speeding vehicles.

It hd just stopped raining. The high way would have been a slick. as ice relative to rubber and high speed.

The two drivers were obviously racing. Then one over took the other with foot to the floor accelleration and over took the other.

But right around the corner was an oncoming vehicle requiring the speeding vehicle going west in the opposite direction. Having had to make quick and immediate corrective sterring, such wasdone abruptly.

And on the wet road, the driver lost all control. The speed and velocty of the vehicle and its were out of human control.

The vehicle then jumped, bumped, flew into the air, swirled, flipped and flipped from left to right and back to the left finally coming to rest.

The driver was obviosly totally inexperienced to the ultra deadly reality of a wet road and maimtaining control of a speeding vvehcle.

Thus, the end result, a broken up vehicle and perhaps an injured or injured persons.

I am so glad that the person driving was not a yardie, some person who anti expat would say that is the way they drive in their dirty country. I am not making no apology for reminding my down island family and friends that we were called dirty and our islands the same. I am a yardie to the bone, I will defend her honor. Now mind you I have to understand that Mrs Wright who happen to be wrong is entitled to her bias anti expat opinion. Let me be abundantly clear I am also entitled to mine. I am calling all expats to ensure that we spend our monies, we support who respect us. What is even worst is that she felt comfortable saying it in the presence of a yardie who believes he is tolan. Yet the idi..t don’t realize that in the eyes of the tolans he would never be from hay.
