‘VIP all the way!’ Rymer dispels rumours of jumping ship

Kye Rymer

Minister for Transportation, Works and Utilities Kye Rymer has put to bed any rumours that he may not be running with the Virgin Islands Party (VIP) at the upcoming elections.

While appearing on his party’s Let’s Talk radio programme last evening, Rymer said he received a text message which questioned whether he would return with the VIP.

“I just need to clear the air and make sure to let persons know that I’m a committed member of the Virgin Islands party,” Rymer stated.

The Fifth District Representative said he will continue to support the VIP, and added that it was the best party to take BVI into the future and through whatever it is experiencing at this time.

“My commitment is here and with our leader, the Honourable Premier and despite the turbulence that we have been faced with in terms of COVID, we continue to work for you, the people of this territory,” he added.

The next elections are constitutionally due sometime around May of 2023 but several persons, including Opposition legislators, have suggested over the past few months that the government is likely to call a snap election sometime this year.

Premier Andrew Fahie has continuously shot down these assertions, insisting that his administration has much work remaining and pointing towards the VIP’s intention to address a number of legislative objectives on its agenda.

  1. HMMM says:

I tired tell people, he might be doing for his district but he is part of the problem as he is one of the ministers that makes up the Cabinet. His vote counts for approving many of the wrongs in the house. He is also responsible for the BS that we have been dealing with since Feb 2019!!! Here he is talking about VIP all the way, what does this say about him? VOTE HIM OUT TOO!!!!

I say this all the time…he is silent on a lot of issues and he is also part of the Cabinet that is making terrible decision. I don’t understand why people are separating him from the party for the district but don’t see him as part of the problem for the entire territory

  7. All the same says:

They all sit there and allow the things that are happening to happen. None better than none. I do not see how we could just carve out a few when they are all part of the team and none of them had the courage to stand up for the BVI. The whole slate must go! And Kye singing VIP All the Way tells me that he sign on to all the nonsense from the stimulus grants to cronies to the over prices barges to the overpriced air condition unit for the gym to the Greedy bill. All of it.

    • Maria says:

Don’t forget the person for the ac contract also campaigned openly on his behalf…his silence means he is in agreement with all that is happening

    • Precisely says:

The member for the 5th likes to be important, he would never go against the tide. And because of this he should be punished with the rest of the VIP. He cares about his Green Party and being in power more than doing right for the people, and these Virgin Islands. What has he got to show anyway? I mean something of substance that he has achieved.

  8. 1st district original says:

I don’t need ANY part ah he. He is just the male version of the clear lady who does shred her business papers. And a bit darker. LMAOOOOO!

  9. Loyalty says:

He’s actually proud to say that? His loyalty is to his mother in law. Don’t mind him. She’s VIP all the way and he has no choice to support them. He is part of the travesty that has happened since they took office. Vote him out!

  10. Nope! says:

A vote for one is a vote for all.

  11. All I got to say says:

I really think this young man has potential, but it is not showing. I told him that he should go for it and try and represent his country. What did he do? Like all the others, let the big bull run around the candy shop and break everything. Focused on District and not his portfolio, not the needs of his Country.

Well, young man, you have a portfolio. That is your mandate. You are over a Ministry and should try your very best. All you have done is redirect traffic that was fine to begin with. Your office is on Main Street. Can’t you see that it needs resurfacing? Redirect traffic for a weekend and do something about it. My goodness, Public Works can do this work. How hard can it be?

And oh, while you’re at it, please order the machines for renewal of drivers’ licences. While my face has not changed so much over the years, as I use my hair dye often, between COVID and the stress your Government is putting on us, that will not continue. You see, Honourable, it’s the little things. If you can’t fix the little things, the big things will never be achieved. Your Government has failed us. So sorry to say, but your promises have not been fulfilled. Please move out of the way and let someone who is truly willing to work for all, and not just their supporters do this job.
