Walkers law firm sponsors local cyclist Darel Christopher Jr

Local law firm Walker’s BVI has moved to become a sponsor for the BVI Cycling Federation through what it is described as a partnership with the Ministry of Education & Sports.

Offering a $7,000 cheque to the Federation recently, the law firm has taken specific interest in in local professional cyclist, Darel Christopher Jr.

Walkers pledged to sponsor Christopher’s future ambitions and to “help him realise his dreams of international competition”. To that end, Christopher will be afforded the opportunity to compete at the 2022 UCI Road World Championships being held in Wollongong, Australia from 17 to 25 September.

“As we celebrate the twentieth anniversary of Walkers in the BVI, we continue to demonstrate our commitment to the BVI. We pledge continued support to educational, sporting and other benevolent schemes for the young people of the territory, via our in-house Charity Committee. Walkers wishes Darel Jr all the best in his future professional career,” said Omonike Robinson-Pickering, a partner at the law firm.

During a recent presentation ceremony, the cyclist’s father, Darel Sr thanked Walkers on behalf of the Cycling Federation and his son.
