Walwyn noticeably missing from NDP radio show

Myron Walwyn

Sixth District Representative Myron Walwyn has been noticeably absent from the public activities of the National Democratic Party (NDP) since losing the party’s leadership race earlier this year, adding fuel to questions about his political alignment.

Walwyn, who previously served as Opposition Leader, has not appeared on any recent airing of the NDP’s revived radio programme, which was recently revived as the party attempts to rally supporters ahead of the anticipated polls.

The programme has featured several prominent party figures and supporters, including Third District hopeful Aaron Parillon, Second District Representative Melvin ‘Mitch’ Turnbull, former legislator Shereen Flax-Charles, NDP chairman Marlon Penn and former NDP president Bishop John Cline.

Walwyn’s absence is particularly noticeable as he remains highly visible within the Sixth District, where he continues to spearhead and support community initiatives. The development comes amid persistent speculation that Walwyn could be among high-profile NDP members who may eventually align themselves with former legislator Mark Vanterpool’s Progressive Liberal Movement (PLM), amid rumours that some NDP members continue to doubt Penn’s leadership.

The NDP has been plagued by internal factions for several years, with disagreements over leadership and direction repeatedly spilling into the public domain. The April 2026 internal leadership contest, which saw Penn emerge as party leader, again exposed divisions within the organisation.

In the meantime, no official statement has been made by Walwyn on his political alignment ahead of the next election. Recently, when asked whether Turnbull and Walwyn were still part of the NDP, Penn gave a brief “yes” without giving details.

NDP delegates voted against the wider NDP’s will. Even though they had time to correct their error they turned a blind eye to the wider NDP’S cry. The carts just cannot lead the horses, simple.

Why you all don’t leave this man alone in peace. Myron is the best political representative we have in House of Assembly. He is one person who you could see really works for his district people. Some of you try everything to keep him down because his family background is not from here and now the man taking a back seat it is still a problem. What y’all want from this man buddy? Other people who are far less competent than Myron have been chosen to lead so let them lead. Give the man a break.

Ronnie has been missing from the same show but it look like you all only have strength for Myron. He right not to go. When Ronnie and Marlon wasn’t attending press conferences and didn’t support the vote of no confidence when Myron was opposition leader you didn’t hear a word but now Myron ain’t on a show it’s a big thing.

    • Ronnie and Myron says:

The only viable path to victory is to join the PLM , if you are a Skelton and Walwyn supporter that has their ear you must talk some sense into both. Thee would both have Ministries and one even possibly Deputy. This is Hon. SKelton’s last lap and he must think like Hon. Fraser (essentiall that I didnt make Premier but still going out on a high note) Vanterpool is strategic and will place them is a position that would make the PLM successful. But time is running out, if they make the jump too late it will be seen as desperate and not strategic. I think the public understand that the other parties just dont have the organization , acumen or credibilty to lead on day 1 but with Skelton and Walwyn PLM would.

Ronnie would never ever good with Mark even if he’s the better option. Ronnie and Eileen them (God rest her soul) were some of the ones spreading that island man nonsense with Mark and Myron, they don’t want Mark or Myron to be Premier.

  4. Thrive says:

Myron continue to concentrate on your district that should be your first priority. The NDP don’t like you because of your heritage. They show you over and over again. Even the VIP government is the sane way. They left you out of the constitutional discussions when you are the most qualified member of the parliament to be on it. They don’t love country. Work on your district and decide what you do afterwards.

Marlon rigged the election to win and now everybody must come help him do the work? He want to be leader so let him be leader. Once he is on NDP radio it should not matter if Myron is not there. Unless they know which they know that Myron is important to the party winning elections. I with Myron. Let them run them thing and stay in the background

You sound like a real fool. Myron was born and raised in Tortola. Natalio was born in Puerto Rico. The last Premier was indigenous as you all like to stupidly say yet he sold out the country to drug lords. Now this one has the whole country in a mess. I cry a river for my BVI. If this how our mindset is then the BVI will continue to fall.

  14. Eldread says:

Myron is doing the right thing after all he is human, when his same party member and now leader of NDP plotted with VIP to undermine him all during the no confidence vote against natalio Wheatley , that same Marlon go watch the kangaroos in Australia and on the second occasion he sat in his car and don’t attend HOA, and Ronnie and bishop cline and Claude convince Stacy to break up their group to prevent Myron from forging ahead by requesting the governor investigate the $5 million USD to bank of Asia and also to prevent Myron from.going to London on the UK constitutional talks, because in truth and in fact they fooling the people about constitutional talks when it is basically them going to look about more power for the premier and Myron would not ever allow his conscience to betray the BVI people, so Marlon and cline and natalio form a closely family nit club as part of the constitutional team, and Marlon would in turn gets the power of opposition leader, now as we can see a lesser amount of money like $2.5 million USD gone to a Jamaican company, Marlon want investigation because he think he is close to the seat of power, and even so he is not calling for a proper investigation as Myron had called for as opposition leader, because he can’t rock the cradle because he is part of the family entitlement indeginous elites club and has a prestigious appointment to go on constitutional talks of which most of them not qualified in legal training, Myron would have been one politician with legal training to help beside the independent legal personnel the government appointed, do you know what it is for someone to make a BVI citizen by birth a non grata and called foreigner when none of us call white people foreigners? This man Myron made himself an upstanding modeled citizen and grasp the academic opportunity to make himself prepare to help build the BVI, and people lesser committed and qualified is fighting him down. If I was Myron I stay far from them, what they want Myron to come over and give them wings to fly to power, no Myron wants to give the BVI people wings of empowerment.

    • Mutabaruka says:

@El Dread – what a fancy tale you weaved without any factual evidence and just more hearsay and nonsense to confuse the simps. Myron is a very polarizing figure just like Willock is. Myron was a VIP long before he was an NDP and history has shown that he is not as welcomed in NDP1 or any NDP reboot. Ronnie would not join PLM under any circumstances as he knows what Mark is all about and would not risk this maniac on the territory again!! Mark however has helped bail out certain persons failing businesses and therefore is owed by them!

So if one candidate is beholding to another what does that say for the country when critical decisions have to be voted on?!? For all the rave reviews on the D6 candidate, he cannot seem to get anyone to coalesce around him. He was always an NDP even when he had the upper hand with Turnbull and Mather aligning with him. When Ronnie and JC dissolved PVIM; Myron was still an NDP. He hedges himself regardless until absolutely sure he can untimately benefit and humbug the rest! This is what I truly see behind his mask.

PLM is a mixed up party and their ‘leader’ is not trustworthy, for the people and unstable. Btw, all the advantages MW has had have turned into mush because of his visible lack of real leadership qualities.

  15. Time for an upset says:

If walyn was the head of ndp them was getting my vote

Now I ain got no vote to give so I’ll just for anything that can upset the current political landscape

So all the weird choices that popped up recently I will spitefully vote for just to upset the plans and schemes of all the wicked greedy politicians

Travelling every other day while the country cost of living continue to raise. While power cutting off for a little bit of rain but bills increasing while quality of service remains poor. While water cutting off and raising the price for something that was poorly maintained that our tax was paying for

  16. My vote is yours if!!! says:

I waiting for public health and eshs to come forward and tell the public wa really going with them young girls and the school and bring to light about what the men (especially those who wear Gucci chains in them pics) doing.

Also the men outside of the school who got sti/hiv to spread. I can’t feel sorry for who ever young girl get catch. Your parents fail you smf decided to play with fire so fire will have to teach you.

Don’t forget the last news from public health “transactional” sex between young adolescents and adults.

Y’all raise a culture on sex and not raising your kids with self respect and morals and the predator’s and criminals having a feast off of y’all ignorance

If y’all find out the young girls who look so innocent with good grades getting caught up in

If y’all find out all that men who are regular offender’s allowed to work in those schools and the men who regularly have to interact with students still operating in those sensitive areas…

We seriously need a sex offender list
If y’all know wa really going on and see the culprits deeply involved in predatory behavior y’all would guarantee march!!

Mika Barry we need you ASAP. Just focus on the predators in this country!

Whoever promises a sex offender list will get my vote this election!!!

  17. Take my silly advice says:

This election will be very interesting. There will be some key players and Myron will be one. Myron regardless of whether you like him or not is one of the better legislators and representatives that we have. He is an intelligent man and his voice is trusted. Whoever has him this election will be a force to be reckoned with. It must be a hard decision for him because we saw how Marlon and Skelton acted when he was leader of the opposition not because of his competence but because he has expat parents. The VIP behaves the same way. However Mark Vanterpool is unstable in my opinion and that family seems to only care about themselves. Myron my advice is to keep silent, work on your district like you do and make a decision at the right time that is best for your district and for you. That’s all I could say.

  18. Myron leave them alone says:

Marlon and Mitch who are the two leaders that the NDP voters voted for from the rigged list. What they harassing Myron for now? They wanted position now they get it but nobody respect either one of them. The NDP will not win with Marlon and Mitch. If it was Marlon and Myron it would have been much better for them. Myron you sit back and let them do what they want. Work with your district to secure your seat.

  19. Hmmm. .A Replay. says:

I done see the same problem of power struggle that will put Sowande right back in as Premier. That will happen next election as happen in last election.

The NDP failed from the time they elected/ selected marlin and Mitch as their leaders . Myron is correct, why should you follow a leader who is not qualified to lead and you yourself is 1000 times more qualified than him to lead the party and the country.

  21. I like says:

I’m not in Myron district but I like myron. He is a good person and an excellent politician. Andrew brain washed the people about this island man stupidness. The man born here , play marble with us here , climb mango tree with us here went to schools here with us so how he is an island man.

We are all from different islands in the Caribbean Sea. Please stop and don’t allow foolishness and ignorance take over. We need to just stop with this damn BS now mehn..

  24. Good! says:

Well, I hope he jumping ship because truth be told, whether MW stick with NDP or not, oy is not voting for no NDP. Marlon is NOT my choice for premier and Mitch is NOT my choice for deputy premier. These are NOT the voices I want to hear when I tune in to the news to listen to the latest in the territory at the end of a stressful day. Whoever voted for them internally need to ask themselves a question and take several seats. Knowingly voting for dead weight? For who to vote for? Well oy never see more. I voting for whatever party have MW and MV on the same team AS LONG AS there is no Marlon or Mitch or whosoever else fall in that category.

MV say he bringing a full slate of fresh candidates to the new party. Choose the right people and you have my vote ALL THE WAY! As long as MW is in that circle.

  25. ANYTHING says:

I’m in the 6th. If Myron goes with MARK he loosing my votes. I am not helping him get close to that Premier position while I love Myron to death. Best he run independent.

    • Foolish says:

If you trust him so much then wouldnt you want to see him as deputy. That way he can keep his eye on whoever you dont trust. Getting things done is about compromises.

    • @Anything says:

Boyyy, this one rough. I don’t know what to tell you. The next best thing is for Myron to start his own party because how much can he get done as an independent. He is a leader and he needs to lead. You have a point about not trusting MV at the head. Someone say Myron can monitor as deputy. The things is, Myron is supposed to lead. He suppose to form his party and put all his members together. It rough. I don’t think he should lose your vote with whatever he decides. This country needs him in at whatever costs. Think about it, a House of Assembly with no Myron? We cannot allow that. It rough.

  26. Pishaaaaawwww says:

Island man this vs native that – all B$ or whatever CSc tryna coin as his own ain’t finna work anymore on the sheep around here.

Some real idiats want to try all kinda subterfuge but they ain’t aware of certain vibrations. All the P’s that struggling for power and poppin’ up line Whack-A-Mole; ayo for real? Gas prices rising with no end in sight yet the power hungry silent cause theirs covered. Who gives a hoot about whom is party leader when they can’t get along you all expect those same ones to do anything different than currently? P O W E R think about that!!

  27. @ Mutabaruka says:

So wiggie you got another new name for September ( hallelujah) all you do is spew out hatred & evilness with your duplicitous and narcissistic narratives at this man which is exposing your subtifuge mentality on people you envy , is this the way you get groove on by disrespecting yourself and making the people of the territory and making us look bad in the process / all hippos love love mud, you should of stayed there . we hope the people in the 3rd district is paying attention to your dirty gutter mentality and distance themselves from you and people like you . They deserve someone with integrity. you ain’t got that kinda of Quality.
