We don’t need anyone to colonise us

Fraser

Third District Representative Julian Fraser has argued that the BVI can forge its own destiny and should be allowed to do so by the United Kingdom (UK).

Fraser lambasted the United Kingdom for not being able to criticise France over its guilt in ‘colonising’ African French-speaking nations since the UK was equally complicit in colonising other nations itself.

“We’re [intelligent] human beings. We don’t need anyone to colonise us … We can paddle our own canoes,” Fraser told the House of Assembly last week.

The Third District Representative was at the time speaking in support of the move by lawmakers to officially establish national heroes of the territory.

Fraser, in the meantime, admonished Premier Dr Natalio Wheatley for being apologetic about his ambitions for leading the territory towards independence, arguing that if the Premier didn’t do it, then someone else would do so instead.

“Our Premier, I heard him on the radio the other day, saying that, ‘I am not advocating for independence of the Virgin Islands. I’m saying to myself, ‘Hey dude, stop.’” Fraser said.

He continued: “[The Premier said] I’m only talking about self-determination. I say, ‘Hey, dude, stop.’ What are you apologising for? It’s nothing to apologise for. If you don’t do it today in 2023, somebody’s gonna come and do it in 2050, 55.”

The veteran legislator argued that a failure by the Premier to advocate for independence now would mean that the BVI would lose 30 years for something that it could have done.

“If you have that vision today, let’s pursue it. I know you do,” Fraser urged. “You brand yourself as a person who admired Noel Lloyd and wanted to do the kind of things that he did.”

The reality of the gene pool is their aren’t any life guards and it takes people with intelligence to understand a stagnating gene pool isn’t healthy. The world has known this from the beginning of animal husbandry; apply the same to this population and welcome diversity!
Look at the degradation of the BVI in the last 30 years, desending deeper into lawlessness and intolerence. While Fraser is blaming it on the immigrants, that is disingenous as there are plenty of local family names on the crime list every week.

Fraser you and the Premier or anyone else can’t take the BVI to independence whatever happens it’s the people’s choice. Fraser if you were intelligent you would know that the BVI is not ready for independence, the problem with you politician and the people who gain from your corruption you all want to be able to do what you want and get away with it. Remember the people have the last say and if they are as intelligent as you say they are they will say no to independence.

Look at Haiti and be afraid. Even with the limited guard rails we get from the UK we’re close to being a failed state.

Read the CoI report and the news. Where are Andrew Fahie and Maynard?

Think what it would be like without those guard rails.

If politicians over the past 40 years had practiced good governance instead of greed and corruption. We could have been independent already.

The language being used by the Legislators is designed to stir up a hornets nest. The reality is though, no one (with any sense) completely trusts the Legislators!

Try working together for a change, life will become easier and results improve 100%.

Look at Haiti, learn the history and learn why Haiti is in the economic condition it is in

The problem is not with nor has never been with the Haitians.

The Europeans, namely the French, Americans and other are the ones that are directly responsible for the economic depravation of Haiti, not the Haitians.

Should we put out the historic facts of Haiti’s demise weekly here on this site.

We are readers today and we know history. It is quite laughable that you would sit at a computer, type and post such falsehoods, believing that only your kind and type would read and be in agreement with that horseradish.

Come on man, get with the times! Speak truths, cause we know them.

So @Resident, the US, Europeans etc are responsible for criminal gangs ruling the country, assinating their elected leader and causing thousands of Haitians to flee? What hogwash it’s a failed state that could not stand on It’s own two feet, and neither can we at this point in time!

The question is not whether we are ready for independence.

The question is, would we be better off under independence.

I for one seriously doubt it.

  20. @Haitians says:

We will begin submitting authentic historical facts about the history of Haiti, from colonial times to present, for the entire territory to learn the true facts surrounding the demise of that country. AS, many non Black unpigmented people are spreading falsehoods and racisms all over this site about that country and the horrors it and it people have endured for centuries by Europeans.

Haiti was the first country to organize and execute a successful rebellion against the slavers, exploiters and oligarchs of that country.

From that time on, that country was under full pledge sanctions and other colonial economic atrocities keeping it in strict and abject poverty to this very day. Details to come soon.

So try to deflect with societal problems such as gang related issues, which every developed and metropolitan country has.

Those issues are a direct result of non-economic opportunities for the gang bangers, because all of the economic resources are leaving Haiti and ending up in the United States, France and United Kingdom coffers. Those are the facts why Haiti is so poor today. More details to come. Stay tuned.
How can a young man in Haiti get by under those oppressive economic conditions?

Some of you people do not know Black people, and you are stuck in your antiquated and racist way of thinking, denying truths and facts in favor of your lying narratives.

You think Black people are stupid, don’t read and don’t know history.

  21. hmm says:

I wouldnt mind going independent if it means we dont have to be involved with any dum bass wars or grand standing for geocidal maniacs that we have no relation to whatsoever.

  23. Some Minds Will Never Grow Up. says:

All Black people must be free from tyranny, political stagnation, political imperialism and fear of future infaltration and take over of their and mantaining of their soverenty human right to self determination.

It is only one with the mentality of the “house nig**r, the EU serogate and the imperialist who wants control and to keep the status quo would be advocating publicly against independence or other forms of self determination for a group of Black people who are less tan two hundred years post slavery.

Some Minds will never grow up.
