BVI News understands that a woman who resides at a Long Bush address was this week arrested and charged after hitting her ex-boyfriend with a hammer.
Reports are that the two ended their relationship months ago but the victim allowed his ex-girlfriend to continue living in a room at his house.
It’s understood that this living arrangement was meant to be temporary but the man had to call the police after multiple attempts to get his ex-girlfriend to leave.
Our news centre was informed that police arrived at the house and both adults were cautioned.
However, as the cops were heading towards the police vehicle, the male victim ran towards them, saying his ex-girlfriend hit him with a hammer as soon as the cops left the house.
The victim reportedly showed a wound on his hand, triggering the cops to return to the house in search of the alleged perpetrator. BVI News understands that the police officers had to kick open the door because the woman locked herself inside.
She was later found hiding in a closet. The hammer she reportedly used was allegedly identified as well.
She was arrested and charged with assault while the victim was taken to hospital for medical attention.
It’s not yet clear whether the matter will proceed to trial.
