Woman arrested for pulling firearm during nightclub altercation
BVI News understands that a 22-year-old woman was recently arrested and charged in relation to an illegal firearm she reportedly brandished at a local night club.
It is understood that the accused had gotten into an altercation with another woman at a nightclub on Tortola. The 22-year-old allegedly pulled the gun during the argument, causing eyewitnesses to contact the police.
The age of the other woman has not been ascertained and it is not clear whether the two women know each other.
However, it is understood that the accused woman ran away when the police officers arrived at the scene and tried to apprehend her. A chase ensued and the accused reportedly threw a bag some distance away while she was running.
She was eventually arrested and the bag she threw away was recovered. BVI News understands that the officers found a firearm inside the bag.
Sources also told our news centre the police searched a vehicle that was driven by the accused. However, it’s not clear if they recovered anything suspicious. It is also unclear when the woman will appear in court to answer to the charges.

The Government need to shutdown these damn night clubs. Since these night clubs started in the BVI, it have more shooting , murder, violence in the Country. Most of the young men and a few women as well lives were demised at these ungodly clubs.
I wonder if the Government and the Police Force is not looking into these matters.

It’s very easy to cast judgement. Let the situation play out. We don’t need to wish bad on anyone. If she is guilty, she will do her time. If she is not guilty, she will walk free. We don’t know the full story, so why the negative comments.
