Woman stabbed

virgin-gorda

A 46-year-old resident of the Valley in Virgin Gorda is being accused of stabbing his estranged girlfriend in the leg during an argument in the Leverick Bay Hotel area.

The Royal Virgin Islands Police Force (RVIPF) has confirmed that Richard Waters has been charged with assault causing actual bodily harm, as well as common assault.

“He was granted bail in the sum of $5,000 with one surety for his appearance before the Magistrate’s Court on 14-03-2017,” added the RVIPF.

It did not disclose the circumstances under which the attack unfolded.

However, BVI News Online understands that the woman was invited to the Leverick Bay Hotel area late last month.

While she was in a motor vehicle with Waters an argument started.

That’s when Waters allegedly used a knife to harm her. The woman was treated at Nurse Iris O’Neal Clinic.

Waters, in the meantime, will respond to the allegations when he appears in court.
