GPS tracking of a stolen cellular phone reportedly has led police to the suspected thief.
Information reaching BVI News are that police arrested an East End man on suspicion of burglary.
The entire incident began to unfold during a late night break-in on a vessel that was docked at Nanny Cay at the weekend, BVI News understands.
It is said the assailant boarded the vessel and made off with what sources described as a high-end smart device.
Further reports are that the owner of the device noticed the phone was missing the following morning. There were no visible signs of a break-in, BVI News understands.
It is said the owner used a GPS tracking application to ascertain the location of the device. The GPS alert pinned phone’s location on the eastern end of the island.
Police were subsequently summoned and the suspected burglar was apprehended and charged.
Sources said the accused man is a British Virgin Islands native.
